“Design and synthesis of 2-picolinic acid derivatives as novel kinase inhibitors with potential anticancer

activity”

Several novel derivatives of 2-picolinic acid to play the role of kinase inhibitors with cyctotoxic activities. This design will be performed using Sorafenib as a model to derive the pharmacophore key functions that define the essential structural features a molecule must possess in order to bind to the kinase target. Computational docking data will be derived to correlate the experimental biological data with the predicted activity of new analogs

Research Grants: Funded by University of

Mansoura-20013-2015

Principal Investigator of Project:

“Computational molecular dynamics and synthesis of novel class of Selective Cyclooxygenase-2 Inhibitors with potential apoptotic anti-inflammatory activity”

The aim of the project is to design and synthesis new class of the cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors and biologically evaluates their anti-inflammatory activity and their antitumor activity by enhancing the apoptosis. Computational studies will be performed for the designed compounds to determine their complementarity with the key amino acids at the binding active site of the COX-2 enzyme. The selected promising compounds will be synthesized and biologically evaluated for their anti-inflammatory and antitumor activities.
