La politica ambientale INDEXIndex produce una vasta gamma di prodotti e sistemi per l’impermeabilizzazione ed il contenimento energetico dell’edificio nel tempo, per la sicurezza e per il comfort dell’ambiente abitativo. Index ha avviato da lungo tempo una intensa campagna di ricerca e sviluppo di nuovi materiali e sistemi che potessero ridurre l’impatto ambientale dei prodotti sia in fase di posa in opera che in esercizio.L’impegno di Index per l’ambiente è attestato anche dal sistema di gestione ambientale adottato dall’azienda per ridurre l’impatto delle proprie attività produttive sulla salute dei lavoratori e della comunità. Unitamente allo sviluppo di prodotti che non emettono sostanze inquinanti, nel ciclo produttivo si è sempre più privilegiato l’impiego di materiali da riciclo mantenendo inalterate le prestazioni e la durata dei prodotti. L’attenzione alla soddisfazione delle esigenze dei clienti e alla salvaguardia della salute dei lavoratori ha portato allo sviluppo di nuovi materiali innovativi che non solo rispettano l’ambiente ma che riducono i disagi degli utilizzatori e contribuiscono a ridurre i rischi di incidenti nei cantieri. INDEX e l’edilizia sostenibileCosa significa “sviluppo sostenibile” nel settore edile?Green Building, edificio verde, edilizia sostenibile, bioedilizia, bioarchitettura, progettazione ecocompatibile, sono sinonimi di attività di progettazione, costruzione e gestione degli edifici, consapevoli che una decisione presa ora e in questo luogo avrà una conseguenza domani e altrove. L’obiettivo è la riduzione dell’impatto sull’ambiente.Il GBC Italia, a cui INDEX è associata, ha il compito di sviluppare, secondo le linee guida comuni a tutti gli aderenti alla comunità internazionale LEED, le caratteristiche del sistema LEED Italia, che dovrà tener presenti le specificità climatiche, edilizie e normative del nostro Paese. Il LEED opta per una visione della sostenibilità sfruttando ogni possibilità di ridurre impatti ambientali di vario genere ed emissioni nocive degli edifici in costruzione. Gli standard LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) sono parametri per l’edilizia sostenibile, sviluppati negli Stati Uniti e applicati in 40 paesi nel mondo. Per una corretta scelta progettuale sensibile alla problematica ambientale, INDEX produce materiali e suggerisce sistemi per una edilizia sostenibile conforme i criteri del Green Building Council rivolti :- alla riduzione dell’impatto ambientale dei materiali da

costruzione sia in fase di posa in opera che in esercizio- alla riduzione dell’inquinamento indoor- al riutilizzo di materiali di recupero da pre e post consumo

nei prodotti da costruzione- al contenimento energetico dell’edificio- alla riduzione delle “isole di calore urbane”- alla riduzione dell’emissione di gas serra- al progresso del confort abitativo, eliminando le

Attention to satisfying the customer’s requirements and protecting the health of workers has led to the development of new innovative materials that don’t just respect the environment but also reduce problems for users and contribute to cutting the risk of accidents on the worksite. INDEX and sustainable buildingWhat does “sustainable development” in the building fields mean?Green Building, sustainable building, bio-building, bio-architecture and eco-compatible design are synonyms that indicate the design, construction and management of buildings with an awareness that a decision made here and now will have a consequence everywhere in the future. Therefore, it aims to reduce the impact of building on the environment and is the meaning of sustainable development in the building industry.GBC Italia, which Index belongs to, has the task of using the common guidelines to everyone in the international community LEED, to develop the characteristics of the LEED Italia system, which must take into consideration the specific climatic, building and legislative conditions in Italy. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) opts for a view of sustainability by making the most of all possibilities to reduce the various kinds of environmental impacts and harmful emissions of the buildings being built. The LEED standards are parameters for sustainable building, developed in the USA and applied in 40 countries throughout the world. In order to make a correct design choice with sensitivity to the environmental issue, INDEX produces materials and suggests systems for sustainable building in compliance with the Green Building Council criteria, aimed at:- reducing the environmental impact of building materials

Structure and organizationResearch, innovation and training are the foundations on which Index has con-centrated its efforts since the beginning of its business.Established in 1978, Index soon became one of the most important companies in the world for the production of technologically advanced waterproofing mate-rials destined for the protection of residential, commercial, industrial buildings, major works and civil engineering. In the early 1990s, the company branched out its production, introducing new systems and products into the market like thermal and acoustic insulation, damp-proofing and tile adhesives.Index is present throughout all the Italian regions and abroad with branches in Great Britain and France and over 100 distributors in the main countries of the five continents. It cooperates with a company called BITEC in America and with a com-pany called UBE in Japan. INDEX nasce dalla ricerca e nella ricerca trova il suo futuro. Nel Centro Ricerca e Sviluppo l’evoluzione e il perfe-zionamento dei prodotti sono continui e costantemen-te perseguiti. Vi lavorano tecnici esperti dotati di stru-menti sofisticati, spesso di brevetto esclusivo Index. Grazie ai propri laboratori, INDEX può continuamente testare le prestazioni dei prodotti ed investire molte risorse per lo sviluppo e la progettazione di nuovi ma-teriali altamente tecnologici e facili da usare. Non è da meno l’innovazione dei processi produttivi che devono andare di pari passo con la Ricerca di la-boratorio.

Researchand innovationIndex continuously invests in research and development of systems and innovative products in its own laborato-ries in association with University Institutes and Italian and foreign Quality Control Institutes to supply the mar-ket with high-quality and long-lasting products.Research is what created INDEX and INDEX does indeed find its future in research.The Research and Development Centre continuously and constantly works at developing and optimising the pro-ducts. This Centre employs technicians of various spe-cialised skills who often use sophisticated instruments that are often an exclusive patent by Index.Thanks to its laboratories, INDEX is able to regularly test the performance of the products and invest many resources to develop and design new hi-tech, easy-to-use products. The innovation of production processes is also of prime importance and must go hand in hand with laboratory research.

Formazionee AuditoriumIndex crede fermamente nella formazione perché le ri-sorse umane, qualsiasi livello ricoprano nelle Aziende, ri-vestono di giorno in giorno una importanza sempre mag-giore. Per questo vanno continuamente formate al fine di ottenere da loro il massimo rendimento, professionalità ed adattamento costante al cambiamento del mercato, vale a dire innovazione e miglioramento continuo. Seguendo questi principi abbiamo realizzato un AUDI-TORIUM caratterizzato da una moderna, razionale ed accogliente struttura, composta da un’Aula Magna, che può ospitare oltre 250 persone, da un’Aula Training con 40 posti, un’Aula Meeting con 20 posti, e da un Centro di Formazione e Aggiornamento Tecnico dove maestri italiani e stranieri insegnano la corretta applicazione dei sistemi e prodotti. L’Auditorium, ha ospitato dal 1997, anno di inizio della sua attività, decine di migliaia di per-sone.

Therefore they must be constantly trained and updated in order to obtain the best performance, pro-fessionalism, and adaptation to the continuous changes of the market, that is innovation and constant improve-ment.Based upon these principles, we have established our AUDITORIUM, a modern, rational and welcoming struc-ture consisting of an Aula Magna hall which seats up to 250 people, a Training room seating 40, a Meeting room seating 20 and a Training and Technical Refresher Course Centre, where master craftsmen from Italy and abroad teach the correct application of systems and products. Since 1997, the year in which it started, the Auditorium has hosted tens of thousands of people.
