Movement of goods (transport and shipping) This section poses questions to determine whether the host country operates its own shipping companies and whether those

companies are the beneficiaries of any special advantages offered by the host government. The questions link the host country system to the detailed international regime of maritime law. The remedies specifically available against ships are analysed. There are some detailed questions about the shipbuilding industry within the host country which may be of direct concern to

some investors. Give the investor a basis of comparison between shipping opportunities offered by the home government and the host country.
