VIII. TEACHING, RESEARCH, ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE

(a) TEACHING

Since 2001 when I was appointed at the Lagos State University I have taught many

undergraduate courses across the different areas of specialization in the School of

Communication at the various levels. Equally, I have taught courses at Postgraduate levels

ranging from Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies; Master of Science (M.Sc.)

as well as Master of Communication Studies (M. C.S. ) and M.Phil./PhD (Communication

Studies). I have supervised many undergraduate projects and supervised M.Sc. dissertations

and examined PhD theses.

I started my teaching career in 2001 as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Public

Relations and Advertising, LASU and have continued to move along the rank steadily. I

remain till date the first pioneer academic staff at AASOC to bag the Doctor of Philosophy in

(Communication Arts) the third year after my appointment (2003 ) and the first to have been

as Associate Professor, Mass Communication (2011). With my elevation on 1st October,

2015, I have thus emerged as the first Professor of Public Relations and Advertising, of the

School of Communication, Lagos State University.

I have served the University in various capacities: Sub-Dean, School of Communication

(2004-2009); two-time Acting Head, Department of PR and Advertising; and Acting Dean,

LASU School of Communication (since December 2014). I was Member, Curriculum

Committee of Senate; Member, Business Committee of Senate; and served in other Ad-Hoc

Committee of Senate, amongst others. I have recently been appointed Member, Board of

Directors, Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) Advertising Academy.
