Messe Frankfurt is the organiser of the world’s leading international ISH trade fair in Frankfurt,

Germany. In 2011, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and Beijing B&D Tiger Exhibition Co Ltd

joined forces in China to co-organise ISH China & CIHE in Beijing, the region’s biggest HVAC and

sanitation exhibition. Together, they also launched ISH Shanghai & CIHE in 2012. The two shows

held in Shanghai and Beijing complement each other by satisfying the demands of exhibitors from

Unveiled in the autumn of 2013 by the Chinese government, the Belt and Road Initiative has attracted

participation by more than 100 countries and international organisations since its implementation. Over 40

of these participants have signed cooperation protocols with China outlining the broad sense of

international collaboration which has been established.

There are many developing countries along the route of the Belt and Road where basic infrastructural

development is in great demand. HVAC, being one of the key elements of infrastructure, is therefore

crucial to the livelihood of the residents along the route. The implementation of the Belt and Road

Initiative will result in the rolling out of more HVAC-related projects and offer greater opportunities for

HVAC suppliers.

In the past two decades, ISH China & CIHE has developed into one of the industry’s most important

platforms and the largest HVAC and plumbing exhibition in Asia. The 22nd edition is scheduled to be held

from 22 – 24 May 2018 and will cover the latest cutting-edge HVAC energy-saving products, technologies

and solutions. The show is the place for industry experts to gather and explore new business, connect with

new and old customers, as well as exchange market intelligence and form partnerships across the region.

German Pavilion and Italian PavilionOrganised by the Federal Ministry of Economics and

Technology of Germany and Italian Trade Commission

(ICE), the respective German Pavilion and Italian Pavilion

were once again successfully organised and well

received by visitors. Collectively, both pavilions were

comprised of nearly 30 leading European brands,

covering over 900 sqm of exhibition space.

Zhejiang PavilionAdditionally, with the support of Zhejiang Growing

International Exhibition and Convention Co Ltd and local

commerce bureaus, the Zhejiang Pavilion featured 120

Chinese enterprises and reached over 10,000 sqm.

For 2018, a stronger exhibitor line-up will be presented by

the pavilion organisers to introduce the latest HVAC

technologies to the Chinese market.

The 2017 fair gathered 1,289 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions, an increase of 14% from 2016. The

One-stop professional trade platform for home comfort systemsAlong with the improvement in living standards for China’s population,

the desire for upgrading the residential environment and home comfort

systems has been growing rapidly. Home comfort systems refer to

integrated solutions of various household systems through

environmental and energy-efficient means to achieve a comfortable

living environment for occupants. These systems include domestic

water treatment, indoor temperature and humidity control, intelligent

Low nitrogen boiler transformation projects create demandIndustrial boilers and combustors play an important

role in national clean energy policies. The

low-nitrogen transformation of gas-fired boilers

implemented since 2016 is one of the priority tasks

highlighted in the Beijing Clean Air Action Plan.

Subsidies up to one third of the transformation cost

will be granted upon over 50% reduction of nitrogen

oxide emission. The door to the vast market of

upgrading industrial boiler and combustor industry is

very much open. ISH China & CIHE serves as the

Favourable coal-to-electricity and coal-to-gas policies fuel the heat pump market Tackling air pollution is among the top agenda of

Chinese president Xi Jinping. Stressing the necessity

of clean energy heating, he has put forward the

“coal-to-electricity” and “coal-to-gas” policies to

accelerate China’s clean energy heating reform.

Aligning with the president’s initiatives, Chinese Prime

Minister Li Keqing has also emphasised the

importance of strengthening ecological environment

protection. A target has been set for the switch of coal

to gas and coal to electricity in over three million

households in northern China.

Taking Beijing as an example, the subsidy for

air-source heat pump purchases totalled RMB 1.754

billion at the municipal and district level. After adding

the cost borne by the residents which equals one-third

of the total, the amount reached over RMB two billion.

Over 100,000 units of heat pump will be on demand.
