The toughest decision you have to make in your young life is what you want to do for the rest of your life.  It is a lot of stress, everyone you know is asking you, where you are going to school and what you are going to study.  Some students come into college undecided, others know, or think they know, what direction they want to go in.

Boiler Gold Rush is Purdue’s version of welcome week.  It’s a time to meet new people and make friendships that’ll last a life time.  It’s a week dedicated to showing Purdue’s great traditions, while al-lowing you to get accustomed to living without your parents.  Events are planned such as speeches by multiple persons and groups, and also mixers where you meet your fellow classmates.

After your freshman year you are left with the option of living in the place of your choice.  While you are still aloud to live in the dorms the place of your choice.  While you are still aloud to live in the dorms many students decide to live in a house or apartment on or off campus.  However better pick your roommates carefully or you could be in for a long year.  This is the next step in assuming responsibility in your life.  If you choice to live in an apartment or house you will now have rent and bills due at the end of each month.  Not only will you have these payments but you will have to buy groceries, and, depend-ing on your personal preference, you’ll to keep your new ing on your personal preference, you’ll to keep your new dwelling clean.

College is all about choices and making decisions.  Questions that are asked everyday such as; Do I have enough time to shower?  Simple decisions become tough to make.  One big question surrounding college students is eating healthy.  It is tough to make yourself eat the greens when mother is not there to make you.  Many students would agree that they do not exactly eat the healthiest foods.  It is a personal choice determined my time and money.  Most students eat out for meals or choice the unhealthy cheap and quick meals out of students eat out for meals or choice the unhealthy cheap and quick meals out of boxes and cans.

Every student is dif-ferent and everyone is going in different directions in life, but we all share one thing in common, we will all re-ceive our diploma’s form the same university.  It ends the same as it began, all of us together in Elliot Hall of Music.  in Elliot Hall of Music.  Just like BGR we will all meet again but for a different reason. To celebrate the comple-tion of our time here at Purdue, and the start of a new chapter in our lives.
