A: It sounds like you are mixing two different stages of the process. AI is used to load data into a

dataset. There is no precedence involved. It is just focussed on loading the data based on the mapping

you have defined.-




A: Reconciliation to merge the data is what uses precedence. Normalization, reconciliation

identify, and reconciliation merge (where precedence is used) will run on the data AFTER it has been

loaded by AI.-

A: So, there is no precedence involved in the AI load, but it fully applies and is used on the data

as it is processed in the CMDB after it has been loaded into the dataset.-

A: There is some internal discussion on this topic at the moment. It was supposed to be

handled, but there is some evidence that it may not be fully handled. So, the best answer we have is it

works in a server group, but there may be some issues with-


A: automatic failover in this release. You can definitely manually failover, but the automatic

registration and failover may or may not be fully functional (I know not the best answer, but it is the

best we have at the moment).-


A: Just a bit more clarity here. The engine and the processes all do work correctly and support

each other and fail over in the server group. Where the issue comes is you can define that different jobs

run on different servers. And, if you have targetted-


A: a job at a server, it will go to that server and if that server is not currently running, it will not

automatically pick a different server to run on but will wait for that server to come back. So, one more

piece to finish, having a job targetted for-


A: a down server automatically redirect itself to an available server.-

A: Best practice is for the system to be installed on the same system. It is by far easier to

maintain and manage and is the default and suggested configuration. If you do want to move things to

a remote server, it is possible, but it is a manual task-




A: and it is the customer's responsibility to perform the steps to move the engine and

supporting files. It is also the customer's responsibility to make sure the program is running and to

monitor it. But, it does work just fine within these constraints.-

A: In 7.6.04 this is the only way of doing it since we have external repository. In 8.0 and 8.1 AI is

not external anymore but fully integrates with ARS. In this case if you migrate the ARS database, AI jobs

will move together with that.-

changed since a given time, use the delta option. If your data source does not have this, use hte

A: Again, the KEY is that there is a reliable "modified date" on the data itself. If your data in a

database has a "modified date" you can test, then use delta, if it doesn't you use checksum. The source

A: If the job is configured to store the logs in the UDM forms, then they will be stored there

the wizard or through spoon run in the same engine (carte) which is the run time execution engine. So,

logging is consistent no matter how the job was created-

A: Yes, you can log the "creation/editting" of spoon. That is not the job execution, but the

operation of creating things. (or it is possible that spoon as the UI has a screen to allow setting the
