Questions 158-160 refer to the following e-mail.

TO Kendall Jong <[email protected]>FROM Amy Morrison <[email protected]>SUBJECT RE: Re: Installation inquiryDATE October 20

Dear Mr. Jong,

Thank you for responding so quickly to my inquiry. I’m eager to have solar panels installed on my home. However, I do have some questions.

First, you mentioned that the total cost, including installation and labor, will be $12,000. That figure is more than I was expecting, so I was wondering if your company allows payments by installment. If so, I’d be happy to proceed with the work right away. But if not, I will have to make arrangements with my bank for a small loan.

Also, I was told by my neighbor that the state government offers tax credits to those switching over to solar energy. Do you happen to know if the tax credit would also apply to me and how much it would be?

Finally, I understand that under the terms of the warranty, periodic maintenance checks are included for the first four years. But how much does it cost to continue the service once the warranty expires?

Thank you for your patience. I hope to hear back from you soon.

Sincerely yours,Amy Morrison

158. Why is Ms. Morrison concerned?

(A) A solar panel will cost a large amount to repair.

(B) A warranty for a defective product has expired.

(C) A bank may not approve her request for a small loan.

(D) A cost estimate is higher than she thought it would be.

159. What does Ms. Morrison ask Mr. Jong about?

(A) If the installation work can be completed right away

(B) Whether she fulfills the requirements for a taxation benefit

(C) Where she can find the nearest branch of a store

(D) When a product warranty becomes invalid

I’m concerned that it may be too late to do so, but could you try and reserve a booth space for our company? A regular one should suffice. In fact, the cheaper the better. But regardless of cost, what’s important is that we get in. We need the event to connect with potential partners who might help us establish a sales office in Asia. I sent you a link to the organizer’s Web site in an e-mail. Thanks.

To: Customer Service <[email protected]>From: Dale Smith <[email protected]>Date: May 24Subject: Complaint

To whom it may concern,

Last night, I placed an order for delivery from your restaurant. As I’ve come to expect from Island Tacos, the service and food were great. What I did not expect, however, was the $6.00 delivery charge. According to your menu, it should only be $4.00. A friend of mine who is also a regular customer of yours said she noticed that the charge went up recently, too. If you have, in fact, raised your delivery fee, I recommend printing accurate new menus.

I know that keeping customers happy is important to Island Tacos. For example, I was excited to see that you’re holding a draw. I hope I get picked! Thanks, and I hope you consider what I’ve said.

Sincerely,Dale Smith
