The release dates for the Support Applications in 2012 are scheduled for:
Purpose of Release Notes
The purpose of Release Notes is to give users of the Support Applications a brief overview of the
enhancements or new developments, which will be available in the forthcoming release.
Release Notes Cycle
Release Notes are scheduled for the end of every development quarter.

Description of Enhancement
With the Q4 transport e.g. following new features will be available in the PAM 2.0:
• 5 Market Categories as filter options and attribute of a software product version
• New filter ‚My Company„s Licensed Software Products„
• Link to a software product versions download area in the SAP Software Distribution Center
• Additional search field in the search results area and default number of displayed search results per page is 20 instead of 8
• In a software product version‟s technical release information
• for OS and DB now detailed maintenance end information is displayed
• in the overview table and in the detailed view for a product instance its technology type is displayed
(e.g. if it is an ABAP, Java 2 Enterprise Edition or a dual stack)
• In the overview table it is now shown how many release information entries there are for a product instance x release
category combination

Description of Enhancement
A blue Password Expiry icon in the SAP Support
Portal„s header indicates if the user„s password has
not been changed for more than 12 months.
Clicking it opens the Change password form.
Other icons:
• System News (purple icon)
the news is displayed when clicking the icon
• SSO expiry (orange icon)
a pop-up is opened with the option to renew the
certificate or postpone the reminder

password rules apply for new passwords:
Your password must:
• Be 8 characters long
• Include at least one letter (a-z, A-Z) and one
number (0-9). Note: the password is not case-
sensitive
• Include at least one special character from the
following set: ! \ " @ $ % & / ( { [ ] } ) + - * = ? ' ~ #
_ . , ; : < >
• Not contain any blanks
• Not start with ? or !
• Not begin with 3 identical characters
• Be different from the last 5 passwords

• Messages and notes will be opened in uniquely identified windows so that you may have multiple messages/notes displayed at the
same time.
• Message Search Results table will show the Automatic Closing date for messages in Customer Action or Solution Provided status

Change List
• A new questionnaire for ‚SAP Retail Point of Sales Data Mart‟ was introduced
• The values for I/O were decreased and are now available for all applications
• Result categories:
- were revised for all SAP solutions (except of SAP In-Memory Computing which stay the same): new values are
XS (<8000 SAPS) , S (<16,000 SAPS), M (<32,000 SAPS), L (<48,000 SAPS), XL (<72,000 SAPS) , and XXL (>72,000 SAPS)
- Result categories for SAP NetWeaver BW were now the same as for all SAP solutions (except SAP In-Memory Computing)
- Result category XXXL was deleted
• Analytics Solutions: „SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence„ questionnaire was updated
