- The EPSO conference and conference dinner are free of charge and only admissible for EPSO delegates,

speakers and invited guests.

- The EPSO working groups are open to all delegates from EPSO Partners and experts invited by EPSO, who

want to participate in the work of working group(s); participation in the working group sessions does not

necessary mean that participants have to participate in the main conference. Participation in the main

conference is limited to a maximum of 3 participants per country.

- The EPSO working groups meetings will be held at the Embætti landlæknis (The Directorate of Health )

offices, Barónsstíg 47, 101 Reykjavík.

- Travel and hotel costs are at your own expenses;

Intended Outcomes:

Through the session, participants will:

gain a shared understanding of quality improvement and change management practices in

health and social care;

exchange their experiences and views on the role of supervisory organisations in promoting

improvement of quality and safety in health and social care;

identify opportunities for further collaboration and development regarding the role of

develop ideas for how to continue their work “at home” based on insights from the session.

assessing improvement capability: a qualitative study of UK agencies. Professor

Kieran Walshe, Health Management Group, Alliance Manchester Business School and

Joy Furnival, Improvement Directorate, NHS Improvement.

11:05- 12:05 A World Café 1 facilitated by Johan Thor (3 rounds of 20 min):

In a World Café, all participants are invited to participate in conversation on a number

of related topics, addressing one specific topic per café table. Ideally, there should be

6-8 participants at each table. Participants circulate and mix so that in the end,

everyone has addressed all the specific topics at hand. Participants mix so that they sit

with different colleagues in each round of discussion to maximize the sharing of ideas

and perspectives.

Suggested topics for tables:

1. What do supervisory organizations do today to improve quality and safety in health

and social care?

2. What could supervisory organizations do to further promote improvement of quality

and safety in health and social care?

3. What are the desirable “limits” to what supervisory organizations should do to promote

improvement of quality and safety in health and social care? What should they NOT

In this hotel we had a reservation with an availability of 20 Standard Rooms for 2 nights, including

breakfast. These rooms were blocked for EPSO until 17.07. 2017. All unsold rooms have since

What is needed from the clients:

Directions to the Conference venue at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre

From the airport it is advised to take the Flybus to Reykjavik- centre. It is recommended to book flybus in

advance here https://www.bsi.is/ before the flight to Iceland. It is also good to contact the hotel and ask them

if they have airbus or pick-up.

Bus services are operated between Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport in connection with all arriving

and departing flights, and seats are guaranteed. Busses depart to and from Keflavík every 45-60 minutes. The

drive between the airport and Reykjavík takes about 45 minutes. For departing flights, it is recommended that

you take a bus leaving at least 2.5 hours before your scheduled departure. It is possible to arrange a hotel

pickup. Taxi services are available to and from the airport.
