cricket is the talk of the campus!

to you 4 action packed nights of cricket!

Sports Club of MDI is proud to announce the SEVENTH EDITION of



Select your teams wisely, plan your strategy, and bring on the passion and temperament, as the

action goes underway at the Imperium Greens UNDER LIGHTS. This time the stakes are higher as, up

for grabs is the right to be called the winners of MCC (MDI Cricket Cup) rolling trophy. Cricket is a

team sport where individual performances often swing the final outcomes. To recognize the

individual stars in the various teams we have awards for The Man of the Series, Top Scorer and the

Highest Wicket taker.

Above all, we promise an electrifying atmosphere, nerve wrecking tension and nail biting finishes

that will be talked about for years to come!

So it’s your turn to decide which side of the field you want to be on, the spectators or the players.

And if you think you have it in you, then get your cricket shoes on because this is surely going to test

your mettle, your passion and finally, your sportsman spirit!

This extravaganza will set all of you on the run from 10th November, 2013. It will be a knockout

tournament with prize money for the Winning team and Runners-up.

Rules for matches

The league matches will be of 10 overs.

Team shall comprise of 11 players + 3 extras/substitutes.

Power Play ->

o First 3 overs – Compulsory only two fielders outside the inner circle

Minimum 4 players are required in the 30 yard circle for non- Power play overs

Bowlers Restriction

o Maximum 2 overs for five bowlers (2+2+2+2+2)

Bye-run rule will be applicable

Free Hit rule is as applicable

Wicket Keeper can be changed and is allowed to bowl

For a ball that may be claimed to be low, the decision of the umpire shall stand abiding.

Note: If the ball crosses the crease after tipping just once on the pitch, then it shall be

deemed as legitimate delivery no matter how low it is

Team should report 15 minutes prior to scheduled time. In case the team does not report by

the stipulated time, a walkover will be given.

LBWs and Leg-byes will not be considered during the game

Byes and Overthrows are allowed



In case there is a tie in the match, a super-over will be bowled. The rules of super-over are as

follows :-

1. The team that bats 2nd

initially would bat 1st

in the super-over.

2. Each team will nominate three batsmen and one bowler.

3. The bowler will bowl one over and the side batting 1st will score as many runs as

possible.

4. If any of the opening batsmen get out within the over than the batsman no 3 will get

to bat.

5. If the 2nd wicket also falls before the over is completed then the team is declared all

out. The other team then bats in the same manner and the team that takes the lead

wins.

6. In case there is tie in super-over than number of sixes hit by each team is

considered. The team with highest number of sixes becomes the winner.

7. If there is still a tie than number of 4s hit by each team will be considered.

The semi - final and final matches will be of 12 overs

Power play ->

o First 4 overs compulsory only two fielders outside the inner circle

Minimum 4 players are required in the 30 yard circle for non Powerplay overs

Bowlers Restriction

o Only Two bowlers can bowl maximum of 3 overs and three bowlers can bowl

maximum of 2 overs (3+3+2+2+2)

Rest of the rules is same as that of the league matches

Note for all Captains:

Umpire’s decision is the last decision & any attempt to over -rule the decision shall stand liable for

your disqualification.

Hence there will be no appeals entertained after the umpire has given the decision. The umpireshall however consult with the second umpire for any clarifications.

The last day for registration is 1st October’2013 EOD.

Registration Fees: The registration fees is INR 550/- per team. A team would not be allowed to play

without payment of registration fees.
