Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ! On behalf of the Missionaries of the Poor I thank all of you for your generous response. We are still accepting

donations for the poor in Haiti and Jamaica this weekend. Please, share your food with those who go to sleep hungry! I thank you for all the food, cleaning products and monetary donations in the amount of $5,660.10.

I invite all parishioners St. Albert the Great and all who come to pray in our church to join in our annual “Holy Rosary and Our Lady of Fatima Procession” on Saturday, October 19th at 7:00 pm. As in prior years, we will gather in the parking lot of the Tobin Elementary School (8501 Narragansett Ave. Burbank). I invite all parish groups, ministers, choirs, altar servers, students of our St. Albert the Great Catholic School as well as all students of the Fr. Ignacy Posadzy and Adam Mickiewicz Polish Schools to take part in this beautiful event. The Rosary and procession will end with a blessing of the „Our Lady of Fatima” garden, „Jesus with Children” statue and a Holy Mass. Following the Mass, in Rogers Hall, we will have for you a delicious highlander’s sauerkraut stew and hot tea.

In the coming days we will prepare a special place for the Jesus with children statue, install a new central cooling system in the parish offices, and replace collapsed stairs in front of the old Church (St. Albert's Room). We will also renovate the main door to the St. Albert building, which was destroyed by time and weather.

May Our Lord Jesus bless all of us in the coming week of work and service to our brothers, sisters and His greater glory!

”Jesus, I Trust in You”! Fr. Mariusz

DUE TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IN THE CHURCH - BEGINNING MONDAY, OCTOBER 14TH, ALL WEEKLY MORNING MASSESS ( 6:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM)

WILL BE HELD IN THE „SACRED HEART OF JESUS” ADORATION CHAPEL.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION!!!

TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION Christian liturgy has always contained an opportunity to make a choice for sharing. From the beginning, Christians

pooled their resources, especially for the care of widows and orphans, at the weekly Eucharist. Over the years, the col-lection became detached from the liturgy and baskets or plates would be passed through the community while the Mass was going on at the altar, or contributions would be collected at the doors. In Milan’s Ambrosian Rite, these gifts have always been brought to the altar by lay people in procession. In German countries, the ancient custom was for the entire assembly to process with their gifts—first the men, then the women, then the priests and deacons—to offer their gifts at the altar. The old ceremony of canonization included a curious vestige of this procession: people would present the pope with two loaves of bread, two barrels of wine and water, five candles, and three cages containing pigeons or turtledoves! —James Field, Copyright © J.
