Many years ago, Chaiyo - AA group became the first company in Thailand to utilizeagricultural waste to generate electricity. With new plans in 2010 to develop over10 separate facilites trhoughoutThailand under the governmental VSPP initiative,Shaiyo organized a strategic supplier team including BIB, LAWI &HTC as keypartners in the supply of the Boiler, Combustion & Turbine Generator Islands.BIB in particular was selected for its ability to regionally execute a completebattery limit supply on a battery limit D&E basis, ulitmately simplifying projectmanagement & reducing overall project execution costs. Strategic to the
investment was LAWIs ability to utilize hard-to-burn high moisture (~60%)eucalyptus bark in combination with BIBs ability to handle the barks highchlorine content in the boiler design while still achieving high boiler & turbineefficiency.4 sites are nearing completion with more planned for 2014.
