There are three buttons on the bottom right hand that allow users to select their language. The APP must start with the SmartPhone default language but the user must be able to switch from English, Spanish and Creole
The slogan ¨Building a City that listens, learns and acts¨, which communicates the strong message that the purpose of a SmartMDC is to bring ACTION to the County Political scene
It also has the SmartMDC icon giving away the fact that this app is all about participating in the SmartMDC initiative
The ACTIVATE button is the invitation to become an ACTIVE agent of change in the SmartMDC innitiative. By clicking on this button users acknowledge their interes in becoming a part of the change

REGISTER
The first time a user click on ACTIVATE on the Home screen he is taken to a registration page. The user can choose to register using his Facebook profile or to create a new account.
For new accounts MINIMAL information is requested: Name, email and ZIP Code (ZIP Code to georeference the citizen in MDC)
Registration is a key action and objective for this APP since all registered users are CANDIDATES for Political Activation and can be movilized towards Alfred´s campaign
Clicking on REGISTER creates a new account, a confirmation email is sent to the email provided by the user with a link to confirm the email is valid. A pop UP screen must indicate the user that until his email is NOT confirmed he will not be able to log in

The APP must provide a validation mechanism so that repeated usernames are not allowed, the username will be the email provided by the user. The credentials will be the email and the password.

After Logging in the user is presented with SIX tiles with ICONS over each one. These tiles hide text (shown in the 2nd image on the far right).
Each tile can be touched and takes the user to a specific location inside the APP
The social icons at the bottom allow the user to quickly connect with his favorite social media networks and share the SmartMDC APP experience, and invite others to get ACTIVATED

When users click on the Learn how to vote button they see:
A Calendar reminder with teh voting date (we can even allow the user to click o this calendar and ask if they want the Voting date to be added to their phone calendar with a reminder 1 day before)
A step by step infographic that shows the process of how to vote on the MDC elections
A Map (geolocated with the user ZIP Code and/or current location of the phone) showing the nearest voting center)

What is SmartMDC
This section showcases a video of Alfred explaining his vision of what a SmartMDC initiative means, what bennefits can it have for the population, the overall vision of the project, the five pillars, the five areas of focus for projects and the importance of leveraging technology to elevate the quality of life for MDC citizens.
It has to be an inspirational video, uplifting with clear messages that touch on the young generation that we want to reach and ACTIVATE. It has to have meaningful ideas, that seem innovative but at the same time DOABLE. It must convey the concepts that a SmartMDC is possible if we all embrace it and we all become an active part of it.
It must invite people to participate, voting for the general projects but MORE IMPORTANT by submitting their ideas on this APP and participating in the FIRST SmartMDC Challenge where the citizens voice will be heard and where ideas can flourish and become ACTIONS.
We can put some text bellow Alfred’s video but it has to be kept AT A MINIMUN, people do not read long text in APPs
The Video itself has also to be SHORT, no more than 1 min or 1,5 min

Make Yourself Heard
This section is a WALL where users can post messages, ideas and suggestions related to SPECIFIC areas of the SmartMDC initiative
Every posting must be associated with ONE of the following:
• Infrastructure• Services• eCitizen • Environment• Innovation• SmartCity Tech
The idea is to gather the community feedback in regards to any of the above, by forcing the comments and feedback to be contextualized into one of these 11 possible categories it will be much easier to digest the community feedback and eventually use this to build programs and policies that ultimately reflect the community interests.
The drop down list allows usersto select among one of the following areas to talk about:

All interactions are recorded and curated by a TOPIC moderator of the Santamaria team. Offensive or innapropriate comments can be removed by the moderator

Vote for SmartMDC Projects
This section allows users to view the proposed SmartMDC projects by Alfred and easily give a THUMBS UP or THUMBS DOWN, or provide comments or feedback on the specific innitiative
This drop down list allows users to select among one of the following areas to view the proposed projects:
• Infrastructure• Services• eCitizen • Environment• Innovation
Each project is showcased with an image (or short video 15sec) that explains in VERY simple terms what the project is all about. If the user wants more details he can click on the Details button and a window with more details will open
To view the next project the user just SWIPES left of right on the tile that contains the current project
The PARTICIPATE Button allows users to enter a WALL (a discussion forum) for this specific project and post their ideas, comments, feedback and oppinions about this specific innitiative

Submit your SmartMDC Idea
This section works like a challenge or contest in which users are invited to submit their idea for making MDC a Smarter City.
Ideas are to be submitted by uploading a a video where users can describe their idea. The concept is that fresh ideas can be gathered in a simple and friendly manner. Every idea submitted must fall into one of the five categories of the Focus Areas of the SmartMDC innitiative.
Users have the option to review other users ideas and VOTE for them, users can also share their idea over social media and invite people to VOTE for them, the idea is to create a challenge or contest where the most popular ideas are chosen by the votes of the people
The user has three options
• Tell us your idea this is where he will be able to record a short video (using the phone’s camera) to capture his idea. Videos are to be limited to a max of 1 min in length.
• The user can also review other users ideas and vote for them (and make comments on other people ideas)
• The user can also see how his ideas rank among the other submissions based on the votes received

Idea rankings
The objective is to invite competition among ideas, the most popular ideas get promoted and your ideas rankings grow depending on how many people voted for you.
By creating this “challenge” people will share the SmartMDC APP with friends and familiy members and teh Santamaria team will gather their contact information and can work to activate them
For each idea posted the APP shows the category in which it was entered, the title and the number of LIKES the idea had
This section also works like instagram, but it only shows the ideas posted by the user

The 5 Pillars of SmartMDC
This section showcases a video of Alfred explaining in more detail the FIVE pillars that make up the SmartMDC inniatitive
It is composed of five different short videos and in each one Alfred shares his vision and ideas on why each one of these is critical to ensure the success of the SmartMDC project.
Also is used to showcase how each of these connect to critical messages and ideas that the campaign is building
The videos do NOT have to have Alfred image (if we want we can put him) but it could be simpler to have images related to the topic, short stock videos that connect the user with the topic.
The IMPORTANT part is that the NARRATOR HAS TO BE ALFRED’s, his voice, his words, his message is delivered with the background of the images of the video.
