System hangs on MSI logo and power off during the booting process.

Affected Model: Please check with Appendix 1.

Q: What should I do if system hangs on MSI logo and power off during

the booting process?

To fix this issue, you need to press [F3] to access Windows Recovery Environment

and turn off your notebook. After successfully log on Windows, please remember to

update latest IRST driver from MSI website (See instructions as below and follow all

of steps).

A. How to access F3 Recovery menu:

1. Press the power button to boot up the system.

2. When MSI logo shows up, please press F3 Hotkey. System will boot to [Recovery

Environment].

3. Please choose your keyboard layout.

For example: US

4. Please select [Turn off your PC]. System will take some time to shut down your

notebook.

5. After system shuts down, hanging logo issue will be resolved. Please press

[Power Button] again to boot to Windows.

If you don’t find keyboard layout menu, please go to next step.

B. Update latest IRST driver

1. Uninstall the old IRST driver. For example:

Right click on the Windows icon and select [Programs and Features] -> Double click on [Intel

Rapid Storage Technology] and follow the on screen instruction to uninstall the driver.

(System Reboot is required)

2. Download IRST driver 15.2.0.1020 from following link.

Where can I download drivers and utilities for my notebook?

3. Unzip the download file and install IRST driver for your notebook.

Double click on the [SetupRST.exe] in folder and follow the on screen instruction to install

the driver. (System Reboot is required)

4. Hanging logo issue should be fixed after updating IRST driver version

15.2.0.1020.
