Riwayat Hildegard PeplauLahir 1 September 1909 di Reading Pennsylvania.Lulus dari Pennsylvania School of Nursing pada tahun 1931.Lulus dari Bennington College di Vermont dengan gelar sarjana di bidang psikologi interpersonal pada tahun 1943.Memperoleh gelar master dan doktor bentuk derajat Teachers College, Columbia University

1.The theory of interpersonal theory is generally considered a Middle-Range Theory but, Dr. Reynolds has indicated that she feels that Peplaus theory could be considered a Grand theory.2. Peplaus theory is limited to the phases of interpersonal relations, primarily between the nurse and the patient.3. The focus of the theory is on interaction phenomena and does not include pathophysiology or biological phenomena. The focus is specifically on person-to-person interactions4. The setting of the theory can occur any time there is an encounter between a nurse and a patient. This results in a broad variety of settings for theory application.
