2015 was the hottest year in recorded history...climate change is real, it is happening now. It is the most

urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together & stop procrastinating.

Milwaukee is one of many Great Lakes cities that rely on combined sewer systems, which collect and treat storm/wastewater in combined pipes.

Climate change is producing more extreme weather events, including more torrential downpours in the Great Lakes region, overwhelming those systems – causing combined

ocean as untreated discharge or as stormwater runoff, posing a serious threat to reefs and the services they provide for marine life and people.

Nearly half of all ocean pollution comes from activities that take place on land, like sewage, industrial and agricultural runoff, garbage dumping, and chemical spills.

Tropical rainforests do more than just soak up carbon dioxide and renew atmospheric oxygen, they affect the weather around the rest of the world. If the Amazon rainforest disappeared, the US Midwest could begin to dry up during the growing season.

Rising temperatures can directly affect the metabolism, life cycle,

from the tropics to the poles.
