ABSTRAK
Kota Medan sebagai ibukota Sumatera Utara merupakan salah satu Kota Metropolitan yang
memiliki pontesi terhadap pengembangan ekonomi kreatif. Pada tahun 2016 Kota Medan menjadi
salah satu ibukota dari 10 provinsi utama yang ikut berkontribusi pada ekonomi kreatif di Indonesia
dengan nilai kontribusi sebesar 0,28% dari keseluruhan. Kota Medan itu sendiri memiliki jumlah
pelaku industri kreatif terhitung banyak, tercatat oleh Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata pada tahun
2017 Kota Medan memiliki 16 subsektor industri kreatif dengan jumlah 519 unit usaha yang telah
terdaftar. Dari data tersebut, subsektor dengan jumlah unit usaha terbanyak merupakan subsektor
kuliner, kemudian kriya dan fashion.
Dari uraian diatas dapat disimpulkan bahwa dibutuhkanya sebuah wadah untuk
mengembangkan industri kreatif di Kota Medan agar dapat lebih berkembang dan mampu bersaing
dalam skala domestik maupun mancanegara. Selain itu wadah tersebut diharapkan dapat
membawa industri kreatif Kota Medan untuk berkontribusi pada ekonomi kreatif Indonesia dengan
nilai kontribusi lebih besar untuk beberapa tahun kedepannya.
Medan Creative Hub merupakan sebuah wadah yang berfungsi sebagai pusat pengembangan
industri kreatif di Kota Medan. Subsektor yang direncanakan sebagai subsektor utama untuk
dikembangkan merupakan subsektor kuliner, kriya, dan fashion yang dipilih dari jumlah unit usaha
terbanyak. Adapun selain menjadi wadah pusat pengembangan industri kreatif dari ketiga
subsektor utama tersebut, Medan Creative hub berfungsi sebagai tempat untuk berkumpulnnya
para pelaku industri kreatif dan menciptakan lingkungan kreatif di Kota Medan.

KATA PENGANTAR
Puji syukur penulis panjatkan kehadirat Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas karunia dan rahmatNya
sehingga penulis mampu menyusun dan menyelesaikan Landasan Program Perencanaan dan
Perancangan Medan Creative Hub dengan baik. Penyusunan Laporan Perencanaan dan
Perancangan Medan Creative Hub ini untuk memenuhi persyaratan mata kuliah Tugas Akhir dan
sebagai syarat dalam memperoleh gelar Sarjana Teknik.
Pada kesempatan ini penulis mengucapkan terimakasih kepada semua pihak yang turut
membantu dalam proses penyusunan Landasan Program Perencanaan dan Perencangan Medan
Creative Hub sebagai judul Tugas Akhir Periode 144 terkhusus kepada :
