Our vision: To provide a world-class business, economics and law education that opens minds and facilitates possibilities for our staff, students and alumni.

At the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) we provide a transformative learning experience that inspires students to create change locally and globally. Our high-achieving students are taught by leaders in their fields, who are consultants and advisors to leading companies worldwide, many also at the helm of world-leading research.

We are UQ’s largest faculty with 9500 students, including 3000 international students, encompassing UQ’s School of Business, UQ’s School of Economics and the TC Beirne School of Law; all recognised as global leaders receiving 16 national teaching awards in the past ten years.

We engage and build sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with students, alumni, industry and government.

Our faculty has business units dedicated to:

A selection of our partners:Centre for the Business and Economics of Health

From 2016 our faculty will house a new research centre focused on one of Australia’s most pressing problems – providing quality, affordable and sustainable healthcare.

UQ’s Centre for the Business and Economics of Health, the first joint initiative between the faculties of HABS, BEL and the Mater hospital, will bring together UQ researchers from business, economics and health to conduct vital research into cost-effective healthcare solutions.

The centre will also provide innovative leadership and management courses specific to the health sector building on the pioneering medical leadership program already offered within BEL.

Australian Institute for Business and Economics

AIBE can link you with UQ’s researchers to deliver consultancies and collaborative projects.

AIBE delivers high-quality research to governments and the private sector in areas including:
