Green living is not only about people. It is also about plants, animals, and the places they live.Green living means thinking about climate change and energy use, as well as about biologicaldiversity and the well-being of those who draw their livelihoods from nature.

We know this takes effort. Here is a useful list of simple steps you can take to begin thinkinggreener, acting greener, and living greener.

    1. Be InformedThe first step toward being a responsible green citizen is knowing the issues and taking time to thinkabout them.and bringing change that could be in favour of conserving environment

    2. Travel SustainablyNext time you go on vacation or need to take a business trip, consider ways you can cut down oncarbon emissions.

    3. Be a Green Consumer

It is becoming easier and easier to know what effects the things you buy have on theenvironment.eg. Eco-friendly ganapatis idols in Ganesh festivals is best practice.

    4. Eat GreenEnvironmentally friendly eating habits are easy and healthy.Avoid throwing plastic wrappers on floor

    5. Explore BiodiversityThe diversity of nature is everywhere. So why not roll up your sleeves and see whats been livingright outside your door?

    6. Enhance Your Local BiodiversityContributing to diversity in your own neighborhood can go a long way toward feeling good every day.

    7. Minimize Your Carbon FootprintBy reducing the energy and fossil fuels you use, you are saving the environment from furtherdamage.avoid taking vehicles and prefer walking for short distances.

    8. Offset Your CarbonAfter you have done everything you can to minimize your carbon footprint then you can think abouthow to offset what residual impacts remains.

    9. Influence Your Friends, Family, and CommunityA green You is a great role model for your friends, family, and colleagues.

    10. Support CIBy supporting CI you are maximizing your efforts by joining larger team.

Effects of global impact in community

-The effects ofglobal warmingare the ecological and social changes caused by the risein global temperatures.

-There is ascientific consensusthat climate change is occurring, and that human activitiesare the primarily responsible.

-Evidence ofclimate changeincludes the instrumental temperature record, risingsea levels, and decreased snow cover in theNorthern Hemisphere.

-The first isthermal expansion: as ocean water warms, it expands.[10]

The second is fromthe contribution of land-based ice due to increased melting. Eg.Tsunami and Fllods inUttarakhand

Effects of regional global impact in community

    - Regionaleffects of global warmingare long-term significant changes in the expectedpatterns of average weather of a specific region due toglobal warming.

-The world average temperature is rising due to thegreenhouse effectcaused by increasinglevels ofgreenhouse gases, especiallycarbon dioxide.

-When the global temperature changes, the changes in climate are not expected to beuniform across the Earth.

-Because of this there are lots of geographical changes on earth

Effects of local global impact in community

"When we actually note all the changes in greenhouse gases which are nowconsidered the evidence of global warming, the models actually do very well insimulating the global temperature changes recently,"

Due to local impacts community changes, as it results in change in lifestyle andbehavior of people

    Quest 7:

The main channels for disposing of mobiles are the shops that sell them, but there are other

organisations and charities that accept them for refurbishment and recycling. Up to 80 per cent of a

phone is recyclable, so don't send it to landfill or leave it in the drawer - recycle it!

    Mobiles are made from:

Mobiles contain a range of materials including metals, plastics and several valuable components -

such as silver - which can be extracted and re-used.

Separate metals recovery (including precious and semiprecious metals): The mobile parts are groundup and useful metal content extracted. Metal can be extracted from batteries too.

Plastic recovery: energy-from-incineration is used to recover plastic from components. Outer bodyplastic may be granulated and reformulated for use in mouldings.

Recovery and downgrading ofvaluable components: e.g. flash memory devices. Re-use of parts: Useful parts include aerials, battery connectors, PCBs (printed circuit boards),

connectors including gold-coated edge contacts on PCBs, ICs (integrated circuits), keyboards, LCD

screens, lenses, microphones, phone housings, screws, SIM card assemblies and speakers.

that a ton of mobile phones has more gold than found in a ton of gold ore and its easier to

extract plus the other metals like silver copper etc as well

    - The easiest place to do it is at your cell phone store or at a large electronics storemost

stores like this have a bin available where you can just drop in your old cell phone for

recycling, ensuring that the chemicals dont get into the mix.

-You can also use a service likeRecycleMyCellPhone.org, which will help you print off a

mailing label that will allow you to mail the phone to a recycling center. This can be a

good option if you live in a very rural area.

-Use it as a 911 phone. Charge it up, turn it off, and stick the phone (alongwith the old charger) in your glove box. Then, if youre ever in an accident

or other emergency, you can pull the phone from your glove box, flip it on,

and use it to dial 911. This will work because all cell phones

are requiredto allow you to dial 911, even without an active service plan

    to the phone.

-Experiment wi th i t (or give it to a tinkerer). Another great idea for old

cell phones is to use them for tinkering. There are many parts within a cell

phone that can be used for building things, including the key pad and theLCD screen. Heres details on how toreuse a cell phone displayand also

how toutilize cell phone parts for other uses.

-We can have proper management of waste in our community

-We can avoid carbon emission from vehicles, by walking over short

    distances

-we can preserve bad and unhygienic water from mixing with pure water,

and thereby preserve aquatic life in it

-we can plant trees in our locality, and thereyby make our society not only

    look nice but also healthy

-we can have proper management fr flow of water, an maintenance of

roads, avoid stagnant water in area from malaria nad other diseases

-we can eduate people to keep society clean

-we can have various seminars or street plays that educate people and

motivate them to keep environment clean at same intensity

-we can introduce programs to save bird and animal life in our locality

-proper sanitary methods should be implemented

    Q:8

In our locality there are almost 3-4 dustbins in our locality

On other there are as many hospitals within our locality

It is a god sign to have hospitals around , bt it is not at all good to have so

    many dustbins around these hospitals

We have a maternity home, general children hospitals and clinics around

At same time we have lots orf residential area around that garbage

So lots of waste is thrown in garbage and as it is not properly managed, all

waste comes out of garbe and flows everywhere

People sufer from lots of disease and always are under medication

Also disposable syringes, medicines and other waste from hospitals are

dumped on this area, this creates lots of diseases

Because of garbage dogs gather, and also there is dirt and area becomes

    unhygienic

Sometimes during rainy seasons water lows into other societies which

    creates lots of problems

Diseases like malaria and typhoid arose due to garbage

So according to me proper measures should be taken to remove this

garbage from our area and also find some other alternative for it by

throwing garbage at regular intervals in government vans and not on roads
