Hello!

I am a communication designer hailing from

Richmond, Victoria. I have a very enthusiastic

approach to graphic design, three dimensional

modelling and photography.

I have graduated with a Bachelor of Design

(Communication Design) from Swinburne

University, Hawthorn.

I enjoy taking a brief and turning it into

beautiful, simplistic design with the skills I have

in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign

as well as Autodesk Maya and Mudbox.

If I’m not in front of my Mac, you can find me

in the mountains having a ski or in the unique

Melbourne laneways trying to find a good latte.

Enjoy!

This publication was designed as apart of a

university subject called Publication Design.

The brief required us to create a mock catalogue on

a type of design, designer or group of designers for

a mock exhibition. I have a strong interest in hand

drawn typography so I based my book on this.

The brief also required a minimum of 3000 words

in total, and a dust cover of any sort. As a point of

difference I had my dust cover made from plastic

with the name of the book laser etched on the

cover.

The name comes from the old saying “Extra Extra,

read all about it!” which is the exact intention of

hand drawn typography.

This project was designed as apart of a university

subject called Branding and Identity.

The brief required us to take a well known company

and re-brand it, giving it a new vibe with new

mission statements.

Everything from logo design, stationery kits and

even the corporate alphabet where designed for

this project.

I chose the Bendigo Bank for this project because

although the bank sits outside the top 4, it is still

a major bank that hasn’t undergone a re-brand in

recent years.

Noble Hand is a mock wine label produced for

a subject at university called Packaging and the

Branded Environment.

The brief was to create a product range, brand and

branded environment for a new Australian wine

label, owned by a French company.

The brief had the option to target the brand at any

market, budget, middle or premium. To differ from

the rest of the class, I chose for Noble Hand to be

a premium wine label. The use of the crest in the

shape of a wine glass allows the brand to portray

this premium feel.

In 1976, Noble Hand released the first wine to bear the name Rifle Ridge. By applying our long held philosophy of combinding the select parcels of grapes from this vineyard, Noble Hand winemakers are able to craft wines of distinction without ever compromising on quality.

This project was another university assignment for a

subject called The Branded Environment.

The aim of the brief was to re-brand an already

established company. I chose Bendigo bank because it

is one of the last big banks to undergo a re-brand.

This new logotype encompasses Bendigo Bank with

a community minded yet professional vision. The use

of the poppet head, a prominent landmark in Bendigo,

allows the logotype to have a sense of community,

with the colour scheme allowing the logotype to be

professional and content.

This series of artwork was produced for a new

nightclub and bar at Roxanne Parlour in Melbourne’s

CBD.

The nightclub targets an older indie crowd, so the

artwork needs to reflect that, hence the use of the

beard and sunnies.

Every week a new weekly poster, next weeks artist and

set time posters are produced. The drink cards are for

use throughout the bar on any given night, not just for

Grizzly.

Mid Level Packaging

The following packaging was an assignment for a

university subject called Packaging.

The brief was to create new packaging for an already

existing product. There was however, free choice on

what the packaging would be.

I chose Colgate Kids toothpaste because the previous

packaging was fairly boring and didn’t target a young

market.

Page 29: Warwick's Folio

I was asked to create a small advertisement for a

regional accounting office that wanted to recruit new

staff.

I created this ‘crossroads’ advertisement with the

idea that new prospective staff could join the team

at Brown Baldwin and get their career on the path to

success.

This advertisement was featured on many job seeker

websites, magazines and social media outlets.

SHEPPARTON

SHEPPARTON

This project was for a university subject called

Introduction to Communication Design.

The brief required us to create a new logo for a place

we liked to visit. I chose Shepparton as it is the town I

grew up in, Shepparton will always be home.

Shepparton has a public art display called “Mooving

Art” hence the refernece to the cow. The Greater

Shepparton region is known as the fruit bowl of

Victoria, hence the apple, and the mosaic comes from

sculptures around the town.

Tyre Wise

I was asked to create this logo for Tyre Wise Australia,

a new company providing warranty on new tyres.

The brief stated that the logo must represent the

comapny motto “Protect your tyres”, hence the sheild.

turn it into a three dimensional character.

This character was created using Autodesk Maya &

Mudbox.

This scene was built over several weeks for a subject at

university called 3D Objects & Environments.

The brief was to draw a two dimensional scene and

turn it into a three dimensional environment. The scene

had many changes before it turned out the way it did.

After the scene was created, we were required to

animate the scene and have objects move. We were

also required to have a camera fly around to look at

different angles of the scene.

Page 47: Warwick's Folio

48

This is the first scene I ever create using Autodesk

Maya. Using simple tools, I was able to create this cool

looking snowman scene.

This scene is uncoloured, but it has shading engaged

which is a technique called Ambient Occlusion.

This is an interactive app I made for a subject at

university called interactive interface design.

The brief required us to select an endangered animal

from the Zoos Victoria website and create an app that

will aid the regeneration of the particular animal.

I chose the Regent Honeyeater and selected the colour

scheme based on the feathers of the bird.

On the next page you will find a small selection of

pages that were included in the app.

The AdultThe Regent Honeyeater has extremely distinctive yellow markings, which is where it derives its nickname ‘The Flash.’ The bird generally has a full set of markings by 10 weeks old.

Breeding can occur just a year after birth and in some cases, partners will fly up to 85km away to nest. Regent Honeyeaters quite often nest near other bird of the same species for protection. The pair quite often mate for several seasons, but it is not uncommon for the female to find a new partner.

The nest is a sturdy but untidy cup constructed by the female, made of bark, grass, or other available plant material, bound with spider web, and usually placed in the canopy of a tree, though a range of heights from 1m to 30m have been recorded.

Both parents feed the chicks on nectar, lerps, and invertebrates. The young fledge about 13 - 17 days after hatching, and begin foraging for themselves two weeks after that, although they continue to beg for and receive food for about another week before becoming completely independent.

Tree RemovalTree Removal is one of the leading threats associated with the Regent Honey eater. Removing tree’s from forests is taking away homes for these birds.

The Iron Bark Gum is particularly popular due to the fact that it is good firewood.

Threats

GrazingNatural grazing by rabbits and other wild creatures, as well as live stock poses a real threat to the Regent Honeyeater. Grazing in forrests prevents native vegetation from regenerating, meaning that not enough trees are growing.

Progress

The Regent Honeyeater is described as a flagship species for the conservation of Australia’s native woodlands, as efforts to save this species should help conserve many other threatened species found within its habitat. As a result, the regent honeyeater has received a large degree of interest, and conservation objectives are outlined in a detailed recovery plan.

Consequently, timber extraction, grazing and mining have all been prohibited or minimised in a number of sites that are regularly used by the species, while guidelines have also been employed to ensure proper land and forestry management, and to protect suitable breeding and foraging sites.

To increase public awareness of the plight of the regent honeyeater, Birds Australia has undertaken an education programme in important reserves and on freehold land. This has resulted in the establishment of a volunteer-based programme that

aims to restore and expand degraded regent honeyeater habitat through revegetation on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range. These efforts have also been complemented by a successful breeding programme from captive birds housed at Taronga and other zoos. In 2000, nine captive-bred birds were released, in 2008 a total of 27 were, and a further 44 birds were released in 2010. Since the start of the Regent Honeyeater project in Benalla, Victoria, We have planted over 800 hectares of new tree’s specifically for the Regent Honeyeater.

We will continue our mission and we hope to see a dramatic incline in population numbers very soon.

We are nearing closer to our goal of $50,000 worth of donations. These donations go towards buying seeds to plant and wood to build bird houses.

Please Give generously.
