10 min Application of Law of Reflection of light around us
1. Show pictures of mirror in subways, shops, buses.2. Ask students the use of these mirrors 3. What principle in optics has been used in these examples
PowerPoint 1. Students able to tell the use of the mirrors2. State that Law of Reflection is applied in these examples
10 min Recall the Law of Reflection of light i.e. (a) how to draw
the ray diagram
(b) meaning of normal
(c) angle of incidence and angle of reflection
(d) angle of reflection = angle of incidence
1. Have students draw on the board how to draw the ray diagram explaining Law of Reflection of light on a single mirror
2. Ask students to draw on the same ray diagram how light is reflected if a second mirror is put facing the first one at a distance

1. The activity is a bit too simple for S3 students.2. It would be best if every student can have one.3. It would be better if the periscope is long, very long.4. I would suggest students to do their own periscope at home using some

5. i-education can help teachers to buy a lot cheap mirrors of different shapes.
6. Some afterschool follow-up activities can be organized for students to make more professional periscopes. e.g. using pvc tube, glue gun and so on.
7. As students like to play smart phone, some app like the one I suggest below can help students to consolidate their learning about Law of Reflections of light. There are some more similar apps in the market.
