POST-SECONDARY LANDSCAPE
What are the various Post-Secondary School tracks available?
4 MAIN TYPES OF TRACKS
1. Junior Colleges (JCs) or Millennia Institute
3. Institute of Technical Education (ITE)
2. Polytechnics
Prepares students for the GCE ‘A’ level examination
Trains students with relevant skills for the workplace in a knowledge-
based economy.
Equips students with technical knowledge and skills relevant to the
industry.
4. Private Schools & Institutions (LaSalle/NAFA etc)
Curriculum is determined by the school and alternative options are
provided for students
APPLIED LEARNING AT ITE • The ITE employs the latest technology and teaching
methods to ensure that its courses stay up to date and relevant to industry demands.
• The numerous partnerships that the ITE has with key
industry players will lend immediate relevance to the skills picked up, preparing you for the working world.

one write-up for each course
• Shortlisted students will be contacted for interviews, aptitude tests etc. at the ITE

• Students who wish to withdraw from their accepted offers can proceed to any of the ITE Customer & Visitor Centres during this period. They will then be able to take part in the Joint Intake Exercise (JIE) or Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) after the N- or O-Level exams.

– Lock up your handphone / computer / anything else that distracts you
– Know what is required. Check exam syllabus, scan through TYS – Get your notes organised (by subject, by topic) – Take notes / write / do mind maps – Practise, practise, practise – Repeat, repeat, repeat – Do all the questions in the Ten Year Series at least twice – Take short breaks (50 mins study + 10 min break) – Drink enough water – Ask your teachers for help – Review your class work, tests, exams, know your mistakes, don’t
repeat the same mistake
