We just completed a fabulous day and a half of Color War at DHR! We were impressed with the athletic feats, the displays of knowledge and most of all – the sportsmanship! Our students loved the sports (ranging from basketball to football to soccer to baseball to dodgeball to hockey to steal the salami). They did some serious think- ing at the High-Speed Gemara & Mishna Chidon, the Chumash Word Attack & Shoresh Crack event, the Team Hunt and the Mountain Quiz. They were breathless with anticipation during Overtake and the Relay Marathons (with entire teams finishing only 2 seconds apart). They laughed uproariously at the Stump the Teacher Game, the Tug-of- Wars, the Funny Wing Hall Relays, Swoop to the Hoop, the 2x4 Walk, the Chariot Races and lots more! We greatly appreciated the beautiful weather on Wednesday and did lots of outdoor events. Despite the rain on Thursday, we had scores of fun activities and took full advantage of our big building to fit in all sorts of activities. The banners were beautiful, the songs were nicely composed and very pleasant to listen to and the Divrei Torah were in- spiring. The captains of both the Har Sinai (Green) & Har HaBayis (Gold) teams did a great job! We were impressed with their kindness, leadership and comradery. Finally, we were thrilled with how each team cheered on the other team and how the older students took care of the younger oneseven those who were on the other team! In the end, she was able to work out her schedule to enable her to attend school while staying on at DHR as a Title I teacher. However, today was Mrs. Stolls last day at DHR. The students presented her with beautiful hand-made cards and flowers. We will miss her!!
