“Mother Arrested After Leaving Six Month Old Infant In Vehicle” On Monday September 3, 2007 at 4:30PM, the Thibodaux Police Department received a complaint from a concerned citizen who reported that there was an infant left alone in a vehicle inside the parking lot of the CVA Pharmacy. When Thibodaux Police arrived in the parking lot, they found a six month old female infant secured and crying in a child restraint seat sitting in the backseat of older model silver, Toyota Camry. Police also discovered that the vehicle was left unlocked with the engine running with the air conditioner on. As Police were tending to the infant, the mother exited the store with several purchased items, who was identified as, 23 Y/O April Boudloche of 502 Foret Street Apt. “A” in Thibodaux. Boudloche told Police that she left her daughter in the vehicle due to her child not having any clothes on and because her diaper was badly soiled. When Police explained the extreme negligence of leaving an infant alone unattended in a vehicle, Boudloche showed no remorse for her actions. Boudloche also stated that she did not understand, what was the “big deal”, due to the fact that she had left the air conditioner running and was inside the store for just a few minutes. Boudloche was placed under arrest and transported to the Thibodaux Police Department and the infant was released to her grandmother. Boudloche was charged with (1ct) Child Desertion, (1ct) Fugitive from Other Agency (Outstanding Warrant for Failure To Appear on Speeding Violation through Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office). During Boudloche’s arrest it was also discovered that her vehicle was not properly registered or insured and therefore towed. Boudloche was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where she remains. Anyone having information regarding a crime occurring in the City Of Thibodaux is asked to contact the Thibodaux Police Department at *(985) 446-5021. (Remember! You can remain ANONYMOUS!)
