Prstene nás zdobia od nepamäti. V stredoveku sa dokonca stali tak populárne, že si ich navliekali ľudia všetkých vrstiev. We have been graced by rings since time immemorial. In the Middle Ages they were so popular people from all walks of life were wea-ring them. The preciousness of the metal depen-ded on where one found oneself on the social ladder. On the threshold of the four-

teenth century, rings adorned with cut stones started to appear... And since then the ring has been an ever-rising star, a symbol of strength and power as well as a treasured heirloom handed from generation to generation. Nevertheless, it took centuries for it to become a fashion acces-sory. Nowadays we don't simply wear a ring just because it belonged to our grandmother. Rings are especially sought out for specific occasions. We match our jewellery with our clothes. We want our ring to define us, to introduce us, to become the topic of conversations... Few people know, however, that our craving for exceptional jewellery to suit a single occasion was triggered by the creation of a very particular magnificent golden ring fitted with mountain crystals which Diane von Fürstenberg designed for H. that moment on, such evening designs have become more and more creative, experimental and eccentric – and more expensive. At the same time, such rings have evidenced the growing imagination and freedom in the world of luxurious jewellery. A single glance shows the wonder of Chopard's newest Happy Valentine collection. Its adorable heart-shaped ring, with its striking stone and tremendous number of diamonds, leaves no doubt as to the direction these cocktail gems are taking. Victoire de Castellane, the designer of Dior's Fine Jewellery collection, is another trendsetter. She travels the world in search of unique stones. After finding inspiration in certain gems, she proceeds to turn them into incredibly sizeable creations. That there should always be a large precious stone at a cocktail ring's base is something all jewellers can agree upon. William Welstead, famed for his unconventional choice of gems, notes: “Women have of late become much less conservative. They buy their jewellery with genuine love and want therefore a piece reflecting their own personality. Hviezdy rokuMódne trendy sa oficiálne predstavujú dvakrát ročne v niekoľkých svetových metropolách. Klenotnícke novinky však vídame iba raz do roka a v jedinom štáte - vo Švajčiarsku. Fashion trends are officially introduced twice a year in several world metropolises. The latest jewelry collections, however, can only be seen in one country. That is in Switzerland.

Ružová vo všetkých odtieňochUž dlho sa ružová, primárne ľahkovážna a dievčen-ská farba, netešila u klenotníkov takej obľube. O rozvážnych hodinároch nehovoriac. Dnes sa ale vo všetkých svojich odtieňoch, od nesmelo bledej až po ostro krikľavú, skvie na všetkom, na čo si len spomeniete. Ružové zafíry, acháty alebo turmalíny zdobia klenotnícke hodinky Chopard, lunety de Grisogono, náhrdelníky Fabergé, náram-ky Bulgari... A čo viac: puzdrá hodiniek z ružového zlata takmer vytlačili klasické žlté. Napríklad model Ladies’ Royal Oak Offshore Ladycat Chronograph Audemars Piguet má lunetu sýto ružovej farby (osádzanú diamantmi) a v rovnakom odtieni aj kaučukový náramok. Čiernobiela eleganciaProtiváhou uvedených trendov sa stala čierno-biela kombinácia. Mimochodom, ide zároveň o klasiku, ktorá bude zohrávať významnú úlohu na módnych mólach nasledujúcej sezóny jeseň - zima. Tento nestarnúci príklad dvoch ideálnych farieb objavíte ako v klenotníctve, tak aj v hodi-nárstve. Bielymi diamantmi je osádzaný legendár-ny model hodiniek Ebel Beluga Caviar, ktorý má čierny ciferník z ónyxu. Z týchto hodiniek bolo vyrobených iba desať kusov, ich cena je približne 60 000 dolárov. Nápadité hodinky v tej istej farebnosti s roztomilou pandou obsahuje nová kolekcia Cartier Curcus. Kto miluje čierny opál, nájde ich u Bulgari-Bulgari. Túžite po niečom výnimočnom? Z bieleho zlata v tvare mašle na čiernom saténovom náramku sú hodinky z kolek-cie Limelight Party značky Piaget. Skutočne obdivuhodné sú elegantné hodinky Timeless z dielne Van Cleef & Arpels s čiernym saténovým náramkom. Po obvode bieleho ciferníka ich skrášľujú biele diamanty a na naťahovacej korun-ke sa pohojdáva roztomilý prívesok z bieleho zlata a diamantov. Ďalšie čiernobiele hodinárske skvosty sa nachádzajú aj v ponuke značiek Dior, Carrera y Carrera a Chanel. Ak milujete iba čiernu a neholdujete snehobielej alebo naopak, nie je kombinácia týchto dvoch farieb bezpod-mienečne nutná – dokážu totiž oslniť aj sólovo. Napríklad Van Cleef & Arpels vyrába tri úchvat-né modely Lady Arpels z bieleho zlata, s bielym ciferníkom aj bielym náramkom. Niekoľko modelov v „bielo-bielom“ prevedení vytvorila pre dámy aj značka Montblanc. A celočierny model na keramickom náramku ponúka Rado.

Hviezdna inšpiráciaZáplava hviezd nežiari v tohtoročnej sezóne iba na nočnom nebi a na ciferníkoch hodinek Zenith. Oslňuje aj naprieč klenotníckymi a hodinárskymi kolekciami. Obzvlášť ohromu-júci efekt majú diamantové hviezdy Piaget – sú obrovské, jasné a naviac viditeľné za každé-ho počasia! Môžu tak úspešne konkurovať hviezdam, ktoré sa objavili v kolekciách vysokej bižutérie v Yves Saint Laurent a Chanel.

Pink in All ShadesIt has been some time since pink, originally a gir-lish and light-hearted colour, was so favoured by jewelers. Let alone cool headed watch makers. Today, however, pink shines just about everywhe-re, and in all shades- from a shy light pink to a fiercely bright pink. Pink sapphires, agates, or tourmalines adorn jewels- Chopard watches, lunettes de Grisogono, Faberge necklaces, Bulgari bracelets… And what’s more: watch faces made of pink gold nearly replaced the classical yellow gold ones. For example, Ladies’ Royal Oak Offshore Ladycat Chronograph Audemars Piquet has a deep pink lunette (embedded with diamonds), and the same shade of an India rubber bracelet. Another model from the same brand gives a more dressy impression; it boasts a case and a stem made of pink gold.
