to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health;

to maintain safe and healthy working conditions; and

to review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals.

Assessing the working environment means looking at an area and really seeing what is there. This is easier said than done, particularly where the looking at is done by people who have worked within it for a long time. They look but do not always see things that are familiar. Looking and seeing takes experience combined with training and the belief in the need for this skill. Floors
