Many  of  the  sporBng  events  in  Magness  Arena  draw  the  support  of  a  few  hundred  students,  opposed  to  thousands  of  outside  fans.  Friends  and  family  occupy  the  remaining  seats.

Even  with  the  support  of  friends  and  family,  many  seats  remain  vacant  during  men’s  and  women’s  games.

Parents  and  siblings  filled  the  seats  of  the  student  secBon  during  this  basketball  game  in  Magness  Arena.

“When  I  was  younger,  my  dad  and  I  went  to  a  lot  of  basketball  games  at  DU.  Now  that  I  am  a  student  here,    I  rarely  aOend  games,”  –  Freshman  Sam  Garry.

Special  occurrences,  such  as  naBonal  network  broadcasts  on  networks  such  as  ESPN,  seem  to  be  the  only  method  to  occasionally  spike  the  aOendance  rates  among  students.

On  days  where  both  the  men  and  women  play,  however,  students  flood  to  the  aisles  to  leave  before  the  start  of  the  women’s  game.
