On your device, go to the App Store. 2. Type in ‘OverDrive Media Console’ and press search or enter. 3. Install the program by clicking the button that starts the download. Make sure to choose the right application for you. Some App Stores make you enter in your ID and Password whenever you download an App. iTunes users: the list will show one for both the iPad and the iPhone. 4. When the download is complete, click on the OverDrive icon to open the application. Set Up Your Account with Adobe 1. Create an Adobe ID and Password at Adobe.com. Your username will always be your email address. 2. The first time you open the application it should prompt you to enter in your Adobe ID and a password. 3. If you don’t have one, there is a button on that page to create one. You will need this in order to read any books that you download from the library. Add Libraries 1. Click on ‘Get Books’ and then click on ‘Add a Website’. 2. Enter in your zip code. A list will come up with libraries near your area. 3. Click on ‘Westerville Public Library’. You will see two choices, SEO Consortium and The Ohio eBook Project. Westerville belongs to both groups, so click on the star beside each to add them to your list. Search Libraries for Titles 1. To search for eBooks or eAudiobooks, click on ‘Get Books’ and click on either SEO or The Ohio eBook Project. 2. Perform a search by either browsing the titles by type or genre or by searching for something specific. 3. Available items will have a link that says ‘Add to Cart’. Items that are currently checked out will say ‘Join the Waiting List’. Important Notes Once a regular search is performed there will be a checkbox under the search box allowing you to limit to available items. Make sure to note whether or not titles are eBooks or eAudiobooks before checking out. These apps are mobile versions of the website and will act differently than they do on a regular computer. Titles will download to your device after you have checked them out and clicked ‘Download’.

Instructions for SmartPhone, Tablet, or iPad

You only need one application, the OverDrive Media Console app, to get eBooks and eAudiobooks on your device.  

Download the OverDrive App
