SCHOOL UNIFORMS

School uniform has many advantages and disadvantages, also. It depends on what people

think about it. They have their own point of view, therefore we have many different opinions.

Some people think that school uniform is not really good for students because it prevents

students from expressing themselves, it can make them feel uncomfortable, and they don’t

want to be seen the same as all the students. In my opinion, wearing school uniforms is good

because it can help distinguish students from other people, make them feel equal, and also

make them proud of their school.

First of all, school uniforms help students be distinct from other people. We can identify who

are students or not at school or even outside school if they are wearing uniforms. Moreover,

students who are wearing uniforms can be helped by many people. For instance, they have

more discounts or benefits from others because people think that “Oh, they are students, they

study lots of good things at school, and they will be the future of the country. So I will give them

some discounts and encourage them to be a good student”. Therefore, school uniform is useful

for student because it helps distinguish students from others.

Secondly, school uniforms make students feel equal. The worst thing that could happen at

school is that if you identify who are the rich students and who are not, you will treat them

differently, although you didn’t realize that! Then, poor students who know your unkind

behaviors may feel uncomfortable, miserable, and disappointed. They don’t have any

encouragement to study hard, and they might be very bad students. But if students are

required to wear school uniforms, you won’t recognize who is rich or who is poor. Everybody

will give them opportunities equally. Besides, uniforms help poor students feel more

comfortable when they study with other students at school. There is no difference between

them, they can develop their friendship and they will focus on their studies.

Finally, school uniforms also make students feel proud of their school. For example, if there

is a meeting and they are required to connect with students from many different schools,

wearing school uniforms helps students feel more confident, and they participate in activities

voluntarily with high efforts to demonstrate their school is good. Furthermore, students are

wearing uniforms also feel proud of their school if other people recognize them outside school.

In conclusion, uniforms are not only help students to be distinct from other people, to be

more beautiful, but also make them feel equal to other students. Futhermore, they can proud

of their current schools if they are recognized by lots of people. Therefore, in my opinion, I

think school uniforms should be required.
