10,000 inhabitants, with 8km of roads, and only 1 hospital

Former British colony until 1978

The Tuvaluan language and English are the national languages

SLIDE 2: LANDSCAPE /ENVIRONMENT Tuvalu is made out of three reef islands and six

true atolls. An Atoll is an island made of coral

Its small, scattered group of atolls have poor soil and a total land area of only about 26 square kilometres (10 square miles) making it the fourth smallest country in the world
