Commissioning Start-up Unit (CSU)We provide an integrated team approach to commissioning and

start-up of our client’s assets. SMi provides the world’s best pro-

commissioning and start-up team reducing risk at operations han-

dover stage and smoothing out the process. Our teams can provide

continuing services in facility operations and engineering including

reliability and integrity management.

Remote, Monitoring and Diagnostics (RMD)Traditional process facilities try to maintain experienced full time

engineers to provide day to day process and mechanical engineering

analysis and facility support. High oil prices and projects for

shale gas have created a demand for engineers in EPC companies.

This shortage of experienced operations engineers can be seen

in a facility reliability numbers, higher OPEX and maintenance

capital expenditures. SMi’s solution is to provide superior facility

Energy SectorOver the past several years, SMi has actively participated in many detailed requirements for these projects, such as Planning Studies, various maintenance programs (i.e. Circuit Breaker Replacements), Generation Connection Projects, Protection and Control (PC&T in a Box) and complete station design.

Our activities have included grounding studies and geotechnical surveys, as well as civil,

structural, and all related power equipment and protection engineering for the total de-

sign and execution of power stations. SMi provides personnel and engineering services

for complete power station design work required at the 13.8 kV to 800 kV levels. Further-

more, SMi is a qualified engineering service supplier of 735 kV design, and will assist its

clients in such works when required. With more than 300 specialized resources (including

quality assurance supervision) responsible for power sector work, SMi can provide on

time and as needed support to your projects.

SMi can provide the engineer, project manage-

ment, and staffing to support all critical areas
