Survivors say the funniest things!

I told my husband we should finish up the kitchen remodel because if I died he would have a better chance of finding another wife with a nicer kitchen.

I called the American Cancer Society’s 24 hour hotline and said, "Do something! I have cancer and you said to call.“

I can't die, my drawers aren't clean!

I treated cancer like any other training activity, I got up a bit early and took care of the cancer stuff.

Hi Randy and Suzie,

Thank you for your replies. I am going into my 3 month of having my ileostomy. I am still learning the ins and out with it, but I do not get upset any more if I have an accident. I have had ulcerative colitis for over 23 years. I always new that there would be a time when the doctor would tell me I would need this to be done. I have to admit those words were still very scary to me at any age. Randy at first I was going to name my stoma Monty short for Montezuma. But one of my ostomy nurses told me how cute of a rosebud I had. The other kept saying that I had the Louis Vutton of stomas since the doctors name is Lui and its nicely rounded. But when I name it Rosebud I was thinking more of Citizen Kane then how my stoma looked. Thank you for suggesting UOAA and CC Alliance to me. I will take any help I can get.

boat. I had my surgery one month ago. It has been quite a month with lots of discomfort, denial, depression, and anger.
