Safefood also ran an activity where students had to guess the sugar contentof drinks. This activity was very engaging, but it was also a valuablelearning exercise for students, reinforcing the Healthfest agenda, to engageand educate students on making healthier choices.

“We see this as a critical day for all Irish Students. We want them to stop and think about what they are eating, are they exercising, because we do have a rising obesity issue in Ireland. So, if we can land some key messages today we are on the road to doing a reallyimportant job.”
- Zoë Kavanagh, MD The National Dairy Council [at Healthfest 2016].
The NDC is also working towards the support and advocacy of the Government & Active Health Minister moving forward. This willbenefit Healthfest but also affirm the NDC as an organisation that wants to work with the Government on the wider Health Agenda ofIreland.
