1. CLIMATIC ZONES OF THE EARTH Our planet earth has different climatic zones, according
to the geographic position in which a region is located, we know that the sun warms the surface of the earth with different intensity, producing important differences in temperature, precipitation and wind in different areas of the planet, Which we call "climate zones"
1. CLIMATIC ZONES OF THE EARTH The three major climatic zones of the
Earth are:Warm or tropical zone
• Between the tropics of cancer and capricorn.
• Subclimates:Equatorial, subtropical and desert. Temperate zones
• Between warm and cold climates.
• Subclimates: oceanic, Mediterranean and continental.
Cold or polar areas• In polar and mountainous
areas.• Subclimates: equatorial,
subtropical and desert.
2. LOCATION MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE
The Mediterranean climate is located geographically on the western coasts of the continental masses, between oceanic climates, towards the poles, and desert, to the Equator.
(Location of the different types of Mediterranean climate)
3. MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE TEMPERATURES The Mediterranean climate is characterized by
dry and hot summers with average temperatures above 22 ° C and wet and rainy winters, with mild temperatures. Maximum temperature: 21.9º Minimum temperature: 14.6º
4. PRECIPITATIONS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE
The rains are not usually very abundant, although there are areas where they exceed 1000 mm.
Main feature: the rains do not occur in summer.
5. VEGETATION OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE
The dominant species is the oak. The forest is woody, thorny and aromatic Species such
as thyme, rosemary and sarsaparilla
(Rosemary)
(Sarsaparilla)
The cork oak appears in the wetter areas
6.FAUNA OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE
The fauna is rich and varied and includes all kinds of animals.
(Fox)(Goat)
(Squirrel) (Lynx)
7. INHABITANTS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE
The population is numerous, and traditionally dispersed, although due to the high occupation of the Mediterranean, the rural population has been reducing and concentrating in nuclei of population. In areas where
water is available are irrigated areas. It is an intensive agriculture that harvests several crops a year. The most abundant irrigation crops are rice, fruit trees, vegetables and flowers.
