DESCRIPTION

This is something I won't forget. This has been my first experience far away from my home, away from my friends, away from my family. The 2 weeks I spent in Scotland were the best two weeks of my almost 19 years of life. The 2 weeks I spent in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leith, Inverness, etc. were what I like to say: my new beginning of life. There is someone out there, who made it real for me. My very first and huge dream was this. Being on the first plane to a place I felt it was going to change me and make me happy. Suddenly, in 5 months everything became real. I won. She helped me going through it, and I won. Well... We won. Despite the fact that I was the only one who's been there, I like to say that WE both won. In a way, I'd like to say thank you, I love you, thank you for always believe in me. But then my mind starts working and, as my mind always does, she keeps on telling me every word that someone told me. But there's no way I'm going to let my mind win this time. It hurts, it hurts in a way that nobody will ever understand but, she helped me making my dream real and she helped my fears running away from me. I did things I normally don't want to do because I'm scared. But there... I did everything. It was all so funny, sad, happy, weird, small, big, huge, fluffy, great, ok... So, at least, I got to say thank you for letting me go there, and thank you for having started my dream with a Journey to Scotland.

This is THE CLUB, a place where we spent time eating our meals, talking and have special nights all together…

...And this is THE CAMPUS, where we could find our bedrooms. The rooms were very small and we only had a bathroom for more than 40 girls. Although we had this tiny problem, we had lots of fun there, we used to meet at someone’s bedroom and eat, talk and laugh so much.

The 1° day was amazing. Edinburgh is such a wonderful city, full of people, shops, cafés, restaurants – especially italians – and most of all: it was full of huge and beautiful places to visit. We walked for almost 6 hours and then we could do whatever we wanted so I’ve asked my activity leader to show me a special place to me: The Elephant House.JK Rowling has been there, writing one of her Harry Potter books.I was so excited that I even started to feel tears running down my face. I remember walking very slowly into that café, thinking about how many times did she walk in, how many fans actually walk in there everyday. I spent a whole hour with a big smile on my face, sitting on one of those chairs, looking everywhere. A day I will never forget.

This is the sea they have. Cold water, hot weather, but it was always great to sit there, or walk… Feeling the sand under your feet. We spent quality time and I even learned new games!

The next day we went on a small journey.A boat was floating on Loch Ness, waiting for us.On your right, you can see a picture of Nessie, but that’s not Loch Ness’ water.

The days were flying too fast for all of us.During the second week of vacation, we went visiting Glasgow.I don’t know what I have with animals, but they all want to become my friends!I named him Rubeus, after Rubeus Hagrid from Harry Potter. He was huge! And so his friends. Actually, I don’t even know if it’s a male or a female, I wasn’t looking at ‘those things’ you know…
