Live Beyond The Edge Of Reason

The Bards

uneet Puri was hooked to a life in the outdoors ever

since her father took her rock climbing at the age of 5.

Trekking and climbing have been a passion with her

and she has been trekking the Uttarakhand Himalayas since her

school days. She has also trekked in Nepal. She is something of

a dare devil and to challenge herself she often treks solo.

G

hashi Bahuguna has been an avid trekker and climber most of her life. She is almost a mountain goat, having grown up in a Kamouni Village and having spent her

childhood in the arms of the mountains. She met Anusha and Guneet on an expedition in the Himalayas. She too treks solo or Alpine style when the mood takes her. She is also a trained rescuer.

S

nusha Subramanian, an award winning journalist, started her trekking career in the Sayadri ranges at the tender age of 7 and had covered most of it by the

time she reached her teens. She started walking the Himalayas in 2006 and has trekked across all 5 Himalayan states. She has also trekked extensively abroad.

The Bohemian Way

ur philosophy with regards to BA is simple, "of the mountains, for the mountains and by the mountains".

We view the mountains as our home and as we do what we do best here, climb and trek, we also aim to give back to our

home by providing a sustainable economic scenario to its residents.

As far as possible we try to provide our clients a glimpse into the

lives of the mountain folk, their culture and traditions with home stays along our trek routes.

Our vision for the years to come includes the promotion of women

in the sport of mountaineering both as team leaders and guides. We also hope to lead by example by having stricter and more

stringent safety and environmental guidelines implemented in the Himalayas.

Itinerary

Into the abode of the God of Snakes: Nag Tibba, the highest peak in the lesser Himalayan range in Garwahal, Uttarakhand; is considered to be the abode of the God of Snakes (Nag Devta). The peak thus also borrows part of its name from the God; Nag (Snake) and Tibba (Top). The top affords spectacular views of the Yamnotri Valley. Magnificent peaks like the Banderpoonch, Kala Nag, Swargrohini and so on, will not only captivate but also enthral you. Day 1: Pantwari to Goat Village Home Stay This, the very first day is also the toughest as far as the walk is concerned. It is strenuous and exposed with little or no tree cover. However, the views one experiences all along the way more than makes up for any discomfort felt along the way. The sprawling valleys spread as far as the eye can see below the horizon line.

The Trek

Day 2: Goat Village Home Stay to the Summit and Back The walk is easy as compared to the one witnessed the day before and it is beautiful to boot. You will walk through mixed forest that will transport your imagination to the wilds of our forefathers. As you near the top a quaint meadow begins to emerge that then carries on till the top and cascades on to all sides of the summit. And then come the views of the abode of the Gods. The Himalayan range spread out in front of you will take your breath away and transform you to a trance like state. From the summit we descend down to the camp. This walk down is just as spectacular as the views you will see from the summit, a mixed descent that is in places steep and in some places gentle. The entire way is surrounded by a lush Rhododendron and Blue Pine forest. This walk is a pleasurable assault on all your senses.
