Chovos Halevavos
Due to the new Night Seder learning program, with
Rabbi Jacobovits, the Rav will not be giving a men's
Chovos Halevovos shiur on Sunday nights.
Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund
With tremendous gratitude to Hashem and to the entire
community for their unlimited chessed, and in
celebration of the one year anniversary of Yeshaya
Shalom's transplant, the Blass family is helping to
establish the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund. This Tzedaka
fund will facilitate the Rav's and the shul's ability to help
people with certain needs that are not otherwise met by
existing community resources. The fund is officially set
up as an independent fund within the Kuppah Shel
Tzedaka organization, as Fund #613.
Anyone who wishes to participate in this Tzedaka
opportunity, now and on an ongoing basis, can do so
directly via the Rav, the Blasses, or the shul office.
Checks can be made out to Kuppah Shel Tzedaka, Fund
#613. Tizku L'Mitzvos!

Waiting For The Geulah
We are thrilled to announce another new and exciting
learning opportunity:
We say ―achakeh lo,‖ and there’s so much going on that
seems to be pointing in that direction, but are we really
waiting??
We are privileged to have R’ Yehoshua Samowitz*, a
new oleh and member of our kehilla, deliver a weekly
shiur on this topic, guided by the sefer ―Uva L'tziyon
Goel‖.
Rav Mattisyahu Solomon, sh‖lita (the mashgiach
ruchani of Beis Medrash Govoha in Lakewood), advises
people to learn this sefer and thereby increase their
awareness and reality of being metsapeh for the
Geulah.
The goal of the sefer (and the shiur) is to provide
chizuk, inspiration, information, growth, and hadrachah
towards tzefiyah liyeshuah in these times of chevlay
mashiach.
Rav Malinowitz: ―It is really unfortunately a neglected
area, and it is after all the fourth question they ask you
in the only Court that counts.‖
The shiur will start THIS Tuesday, November 29, and
IY‖H continue every Tuesday night.
TIME: 9:30-10:15 PM (followed by maariv at 10:15)
Location: BTYA Beis Medrash
*About R’ Samowitz:
R’ Samowitz learned in Yeshiva in N.Y., then in Mir
Israel. After getting married, he learned in Kollel, taught
post high school boys, and volunteered with teens at
risk. He then moved to Israel in 2003 and attended Ohr
Lagolah Kiruv Training/Semichah program (learned/
mentored post high school teens at risk in Kesher).
Then, after one year in Kollel in New Haven CT, he
moved to San Diego CA, where he gave many shiurim to
the community, and was the Outreach Director at SDSU,
reaching out to our unaffiliated brothers and sisters,
hopefully bringing them tachas kanfei hashchina, for 4
years. R’ Samowitz then made Aliyah and joined our
kehilla this summer.
