Message from the President, Michael Proppe

Greetings  alumni!  My  name  is  Michael  Proppe,  and  I  am  thrilled  to  serve  as  President  of  the  Xi  Chapter  for  the  2013  calendar  year.  DSP  is  establishing

itself  as  the  premiere  business  fraternity  at  Michigan,  and  I  am  excited  to  help  continue  the  great  work  being  done  by  the  brothers  at  U  of  M.  We  just  had  our  most  competitive  rush  semester  in  recent  memory,  which  resulted  in  the  selection  of  18  incredibly  enthusiastic  and  dedicated  new  members.  We  have  numerous  professional  events  in  the  works  for  the  coming  year-‐-‐including  a  recruiting  trip  to  Chicago  in  the  spring.  Our  newly  established  Brotherhood  Chair  is  working  to  plan  more  frequent  social  events  for  the  chapter.  And

we  plan  to  cement  our  status  as  the  best  professional  fraternity  on  campus  by  launching  an  exhaustive  effort

to  win  Professional  Greek  Week  in  April.    As  always,  we  appreciate  the  wisdom  and  experience  of  our  distinguished  alumni.  Please  reach  out  to  me  at  mproppe@umich.edu,  or  our  new  VP  Alumni  Relations,  Angela  Wang,  as  we  look  to  make  2013  DSP's  best  year  yet.

Alumni Career Panel

Alumni Mentorship

In  order  to  assist  our  freshmen  and  sophomores  in  determining  which  industries  are  of  interest  to  them  and  which  will  suit  them  best,  as  well  as  provide  them  with  general  career  advice,  we  are  planning  a  career  panel  in  mid-‐march.  If  you’re  located  near  the  Ann  Arbor  or  Metro  Detroit  area  and  are  interested  in  being  a  speaker  at  this  event,  it  would  be  greatly  appreciated.  After  speaking  to  many  brothers  about  their  experiences  with  past  alumni  panels,  I  have  realized  how  much  brothers  value  the  insight  and  guidance  that  alumni  have  given  regarding  professional  development.  Please  feel  free  to  contact  either  Angela  Wang  (VP  of  Alumni  Relations)  or  Erica  Case  (VP  of  Professional  Activities)  if  you’re  interested.  (Their  contact  information  can  be  found  in  the  column  to  the  left.)

The  Alumni  Mentorship  program  will  give  alumni  a  chance  to  share  their  experience  and  provide  current  brothers  with  a  one-‐on-‐one  career  advice  through  email  or  phone  correspondence.  If  you  are  interested  in  providing  help  for  a  brother  in  resume  and  cover  letter  writing,  networking,  interviewing,  choosing  a  career  field,  and  more,  feel  free  to  contact  either  Angela  Wang  (VP  of  Alumni  Relations)  or  Erica  Case  (VP  of  Professional  Activities).
