WORLD RENOWNED RUSSIAN MARTIAL ART MASTER VLADIMIR VASILIEV PRESENTSFIRST SYSTEMA SEMINAR IN AUSTIN

Systema is a unique Russian Martial Art that enhances one’s life and improves all three levels of human abili-ties – the physical, the psychological and the spiritual. Vladimir Vasiliev, former Special Operation officer in theRussian army and founder of the first school of Russian Martial Art outside Russia, will be offering his first SystemaSeminar in Austin January 23-25, 2009.

The Systema Seminar will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel – Austin Central on January 23-25, 2009 and ispresented by Austin Systema & Tai Chi and Life Ki-do Martial Arts & Life Education. The seminar fee is $299 ifpaid before December 31, $325 if paid before January 22 and $375 at the door. More information and registra-tion is available at www.lifekido.com <http://www.lifekido.com> or by calling (512) 215-0064.

Systema is a Russian style of martial art dating back to the 10th century. Systema evolved out of the need todeal with multiple invaders all with distinct styles of combat and weaponry. The Russian warriors acquired a stylethat combined strong spirit with extremely innovative and versatile tactics that were at the same time practical, deadly, and effective against any type of enemy under any circumstances. The style was natural and free whilehaving no strict rules, rigid structure or limitations (except for moral ones).

The key principle of the Russian Systema is non-destruction. The goal is to make sure that your training andyour attitudes do no damage to the body or the psyche of you or your partners. Systema is designed to create, build and strengthen your body, your psyche, your family and your country.

Systema has another name “poznai sebia” or “Know Yourself”. Training in Russian Martial Art is one of the sureways to see the full extent of one’s limitations – to see how proud and weak we really are. Systema allows oneto gain the true strength of spirit that comes from humility and clarity in seeing the purpose of our life. Propertraining in the Russian Systema carries the same objective – to put every participant into the best possible set-ting for him to realize as much about himself as he is able to handle at any given moment.

The ultimate quality that Systema develops in its practitioners is humility. Training in Systema lets the person seehis own egotism and other weaknesses and gives him ammunition to overcome them. The goal of the warrior isto save his family, his friends and his country from death and misery. The warrior clearly has a noble goal andis driven by love - love for his family, friends and country. In reward, one gains peace, joy and absence of resent-ment no matter what happens.

Director and Chief Instructor of Systema Headquarters, Vladimir Vasiliev was born in Russia and had 10 years ofextensive service with the Special Operations Unit. He has served as a trainer for elite units, SWAT teams, andbodyguards. Vladimir moved to Canada and in 1993 founded the first school of Russian Martial Art outside Russia- Systema Headquarters. He has since personally trained and certified well over 300 qualified Russian Martial Artinstructors and schools worldwide.

Local classes in Systema are offered by Austin Systema and Tai Chi. For more information, visit www.austin-systema.com . For more information on Systema and Vladimir Vasiliev, visit www.russianmartialart.com
