    STUDENT INFORMATION

    The examination consists of four student certification tests.

    For the student certification test the commands and parameters should beprogrammed into your system or in a commandfile.

    NB!

    Before starting the student certification test you have to open a logfile and acommandfile. The logfile should be named : your initials.log and thecommandfile your initials.cmd. The content of these files will be yourexamination answer to the certification tests. When finishing the certificationtest you have to close your logfile.

    The time available for the student certification test is 2 hours.

    Recommended time for each test is:

    Test 1: 60 min, Test 2: 20 min, Test 3, 20 min, Test 4, 20 min

    Each correct stated parameter gives a score of 1 point.

    Maximum score is 51 points.

    Minimum score to pass is 41 points (80%).

    During the certification test you will only be allowed to use the B-module(DYNATEXT).

    When solving the student certification tests you have to follow theOperational Instructions and take all printouts stated.

    Cell Definition and Configuration

    Work order:

    Define and configure the internal cell DK00XA according to giveninformation and notes.

    Read the Notes at the pages 9 and 10 !

    Notes:

    The different groups shall use parameter values according to table 1below, and not the values given in the text.

    Cell System Type is GSM.

    The internal cell belong to location area five. The Mobile Network Code is 01.The Mobile Country Code is 242 for Norway. The Cell Identity is XX.

    The Colour Code of the network shall be set to one. The Base Station ColourCode should be five.

    The carrier frequencies to be used are the Absolute Radio FrequencyChannel Numbers 6X and 7X.

    Initial transmission power shall be set to 38 dBm on the BCCH carrier and 35dBm on the TCH carrier.

    The ERP power at the antenna of all Base Stations is 43 dBm on both BCCHand TCH carrier. The minimum level of received signal strength shall be -107dBm and the sufficient level shall be -48 dBm for both MS and Base Station.

    The minimum required signal strength for the MS to access the system shallbe -106 dBm.

    When accessing on a control channel the maximum power the Mobile Stationshall use is 35 dBm. Maximum transmit power for MS on connection is 31dBm.

    Mobiles in the cell should only reselect cells with a Network Colour Code ofone.

    The MS shall use Uplink Discontinuous transmission.

    Periodic location updating shall be performed every 60 minutes.

    The maximum number of retransmissions of access request by the MobileStation shall be seven. The access burst may be spread over 14 time slots.

    MS in the cell should take measurements on the frequencies 81 and 91 ineither idle or active mode. The updating of the measurement frequenciesshould be done immediately.

    Parameters not specified shall be default.

    No subcell structure is implemented.

    More channel groups are not required for the cells.

    The default value for DTX on downlink is not to be changed.

    No frequency hopping is used.

    Default values for cell configuration control channels to be used.

    No changes to default Cell Data.

    No changes to default BCCH message distribution values.

    Channel groups not to be defined.

    Transceiver Group is not to be connected to the cell.

    No Neighbour relations to be defined.

    The cell state should not be changed to active.

    The statistics table need not be updated in the exercise.

    NB! The solution to this test is not to be initiated in the exchange. Theanswer should only be stated in a command file. The file name should beyour initials.cmd

    Work Order

    Define a new Transcoder Pool named FRSPV1. The Transcoder Poolshould support full channel rate devices and speech version one.

    Define 24 transcoder resources in the defined pool FRSPV1.

    Initiate Idle Level Supervision for the new transcoder pool FRSPV1. An A3alarm should be issued when the idle transcoder resource level falls below30% and A2 alarm should be issued if the idle transcoder resource levelfalls below 20%.
