Academics and Games Designershave defined it
as many factors* Learning
* Competition
* Chance
* Role Playing
* Altered Perception
* And so on …
On Games Design side, the games represent learning.

Fun is the act of mastering a problem mentally.
A game is a problem-solving activity, approached with a playful attitude.

In Academics, the sociologist Roger Caillois
posits the others .
• Competition seems obvious
• Role Playing also seems obvious
• Altered Perception is an deniable
•Chance is a very important mechanic for game balancing and building suspense,
but not inherently fun, or a reason, per se, to play a game
Other specialist , Marc LeBlanc (Games Designer, but More Academics), Nicole Lazzaro, Mihaly Csikszentmihaly (Academics)
• Sensation, Fellowship, Fantasy, Narrative, Challenge, Discovery, Expression, Submission
• Emotion
• Flow
-They find surges of Emotion like fear, arousal, humor, suspense and surprise to be fun.
ConclusionIf we take the word "game" to be defined as: an activity engaged in for the pursuit of fun. I think we're ready to move on with our analysis of gamification with our list.
