The year 2009 went in great progress. Smiles were shared and candles of hopes were lit up in the lives of
suffering humanity.
Successful Surgeries at DSF:
„h During the year under review various operations of 21 burnt patients were carried out in Family
Health hospital Islamabad, Fatima Memorial hospital, Lahore and Indus hospital Karachi during the
months of January, February, May, November and December by our local doctors and doctors from Italy
and United Kingdom.

Bringing Light To The Dark Eyes..!!!
In Feb 2009 blind and partially blind patients of DSF were sent for brail training, to Italy (Rome).
Meeting of CEO and the Directors of DSF, with the Director of “Aziz Jehan Begum Trust for the
blinds”, took place in the last week of July 2009, to help in providing Brail Qualified teachers for
the blind victims of Depilex Smileagain Foundation.
Securing Futures
Vocational Trainings for patients, in Pakistan i.e. Telemarketing, Telephone operators
Handicrafts, Beauticians, were given jobs at Depilex Meeting with LABARD (Lahore Businessmen Association For Rehabilitation of Disabled),
Coordinator took place in the first week of July 2009; for the placement of DSF Patients in the
Govt. Quota of job vacancies, making sure to secure their future
International Coverage:
The news and documentary coverage of Depilex Smileagain Foundation, by the American
production team for L.A Channels.
News of DSF as a head lines on the France 24, Channels.
Documentary was recorded by the German T.V, regarding the surgeries and vocational trainings
of our present patients.
France 2.visited DSF head office in Lahore, to film the Depilex Smileagain Foundation, working
along with the interviews, of CEO and victims who have been treated under the umbrella.
Interview of the CEO ,Ms Masarrat Misbah as a famous Philanthropist of Our Asian Community
took place on HUM T.V, Ptv. German T.v, National Geographic, France 2 AND France 24.
Interviews of CEO Masarrat Misbah and DSF patients were recorded by the journalists of USA,
Germany and Greek.

Youth Involvement
An awareness event took place In April 2009. It was conducted by the brave volunteers of
Aitchison College Lahore.

Visit of Italian doctors and the President of DSF Italy at the site of Reconstructive Surgery

festivities begun with great news of one of the burnt victim marrying off to Mr. Manzar Abbas. This
Progressive year has shown more registered patients output, as compared to the last year. Team DSF
has only supported the victim with Psychiatric support, reconstructive surgeries, vocational training and
financial help, but also performed the biggest responsibility. DSF feels proud in bearing all the
expenditures required in reviving this life.
