Findings• Network density in educational superintendents

is lower than mayors, but the former’s network-based “dynamics” is rapidly changing

- Novelty effect: The first nation-wide election for educational superintendents

- Koreans’ decreasing interest in the use of the Internet in politics during mayor election

• The intensity of online networks of both elections are lower than previous presidential election

- Network ecology is influenced by the importance of elections themselves and the popularity of candidates

Findings

• The trajectory trend of blogs and news are similar

- Disappearing boundary between blogs and news articles?

• Information producing and disseminating behaviors (e.g., news articles, blog posts) are more active than “referring actions” using hyperlinks (i.e. co-inlinks)
