市長序

玻璃工藝是高科技與藝術創作結合的最佳載體,少有

一種工藝能比玻璃工藝更能顯現妙想與創意。在晶瑩

剔透的玻璃作品中,藝術大師的神奇手藝得以淋漓呈

現。玻璃做為發展新竹地方文化特色,使新竹市「文

化科學城」之美譽,更顯實至名歸。

為推廣玻璃文創產業,「2012新竹市國際玻璃藝術節

」以「文化、科技、綠能、美麗」為主軸,旨在結合

文化與觀光資源,展現文化創意,在協助新竹玻璃產

業升級的同時,也不斷拓展國際藝術交流視野,讓國

內外民眾與業者參與並瞭解玻璃藝術的創意與應用。

本屆活動策劃多元化豐富內容,其中四大主題館為「

國際玻璃藝術館」、「科技玻璃藝術館」、「兒童玻

璃體驗館」、「玻璃藝術創意館」邀請國內玻璃藝術

家參展及金玻獎得獎作品。

除了靜態展覽之外,另外規劃動態表演,包含:玻璃

藝術街、戶外裝置藝術、玻璃大師示範表演、國際玻

璃藝術創作論壇、玻璃釆風行等,提供民眾休閒娛樂

及培養國民對玻璃藝術的鑑賞力紮根新竹玻璃文化,

行銷城市特色。

期望藉由持續辦理此一國際性活動,讓國內外玻璃藝

術家、產業彼此相互觀摩與交流,以此充實玻璃藝術

的能量,也讓與會民眾,感受玻璃在實用之外,所擁

有豐沛的藝術人文氣息,使新竹的玻璃產業能更燦爛

,永續發展。

Glass craft is the best carrier of integrated high-tech and artistic creation. There is rarely any workmanship better than glass craft in presenting wonderful ideas and creativity. Among these crystal clear glass works, magical craftsmanship of art masters is most beautifully rendered. Glass is regarded as a distinguishing feature in the development of local culture in Hsinchu, showing that City of Hsinchu deserves the reputation of “Culture-Science City.”

In order to promote cultural and creative glass industries, “culture, technology, green energy, beauty” are taken as the main shaft of the “2012 Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival.” It aims to combine resources of culture and tourism in order to demonstrate cultural originality. Apart from providing support in upgrading Hsinchu glass industry, this annual event also continuously expands the global view of artistic exchanges for the general public and the industries at home and abroad to take part in this festival and to understand the creativity and application of glass arts.

There are diverse and rich contents planned for the event this year. Four major themed pavilions are designed to hold exhibitions and special activities, including the “International Glass Art Pavilion,” “Glass Technology Art Pavilion,” “Children Glass Experience Pavilion” and “Glass Art Creativity Pavilion.” Many Taiwan glass artists are invited to join the exhibition. Works of Golden Glass Award winners also are part of the exhibition.

In addition to static exhibitions, dynamic performances also are planned, including Glass Art Street, outdoor glass installation arts, live demonstration by glass master, International Glass Art Forum and Glass Culture Tour. The festival not only provides the general public with leisure and entertainment but also cultivates sensibility of the general public for glass arts in order for Hsinchu to take root in glass culture and to market urban characteristics.

By continually holding this international festival, it is hoped that this event is able to provide a chance for domestic and foreign glass artists as well as glass industry to observe and interchange ideas with each other in order to enrich the energy of glass arts. In addition, this event allows the participants to experience not only the practicability of glass but also the plentiful artistic and cultural atmosphere contained in glass works, making glass industry of Hsinchu have more brilliant and sustainable development.

新竹市文化局局長 謹識

邁入第九屆的新竹市國際玻璃藝術節,延續既有精神

,兼顧國際與本土、理論與實務、生活實用與藝術等

層面,籌辦此一慶典,使玻璃藝術家及產業得以藉此

盡情展現藝術風範。

本屆的展示主軸,包含『國際玻璃藝術館』,邀請歐

洲各地及美國等14個國家的玻璃藝術家,結合藝術史

概念,於玻璃工藝博物館本館展出「經典名家區」、

「生活美學區」、「當代藝術玻璃區」、「超現實裝

置區」、「前衛幻彩玻璃區」等五個主題65件作品,

藉以拓展國際視野、落實城市外交,並促進國際間之

文化交流。

舊氣象站的『國內名家邀請展』展示國內玻璃藝術家

的50件不同技法創作以及37件金玻獎得獎作品。原是

舊中廣的「科技玻璃藝術館」,此次邀請了日本、俄

國、澳洲、加拿大及台灣 9 組藝術家,以「告訴你一

個秘密」為主要精神串聯全館展區。運用玻璃為媒介

,結合科技及創作新意,透過新媒體創作 (Digital Art)

,呈現影音互動藝術與裝置藝術。風城願景館「兒童

玻璃體驗館」結合動漫元素,以互動及體驗的科技方

式展出30件作品。

除了各項玻璃藝術作品展示外,並辦理探討玻璃相關

理論與實務的發展論壇,另有內容精采,適宜親子共

賞的多元展演活動及玻璃藝術家現場的玻璃窯爐吹製

、熱塑技法的示範表演等,藉由一系列靜態展示及動

態活動的進行,讓所有人能多面向的親近玻璃藝術,

使參與者能體驗玻璃在產業、工藝、藝術、技術、學

術...等不同層面的精湛演出。

最後,感謝一直以來為玻璃藝術努力的玻璃藝術家及

業者,為民眾帶來愈發精緻的展演;也感謝本屆活動

各主題館的策展人、參與籌畫的玻璃業者、學者及工

作人員,讓本屆活動得以圓滿呈現。

Preface by the Director

The 9th Hsinchu City International Glass Art Festival not only extends its existing spirit but also covers the aspects of localization and internationalization, theory and practicability, usefulness in daily life and arts. This event provides an opportunity for glass artists and industry to fully demonstrate their artistic style and aesthetics.The exhibition spindle of the event this year includes the “International Glass Art Pavilion” Glass artists from 14 countries, including countries in Europe and the U.S., are invited to exhibit 65 masterpieces at the “Glass Museum of Hsinchu City” with five themes, which are “Traditional Glass Art,” “Applied Glass Art,” “ Surrealistic Glass Art,” “Contemporary Glass Art” and “Innovative Glass Panel,” by combining with the concept of art history in order to expand global vision, carry out city diplomacy and promote cultural exchanges among international countries.

The “Taiwan Masters Exhibition” held at the old weather station presents 50 pieces of glass works created by domestic glass artists using different techniques and 37 winning works designed by the Golden Glass Award winners. At the old BCC station, the “Glass Technology Art Pavilion” this time invited Japanese, Russian, Australian, Canadian and the Taiwan 9 group of artists, take “tells you a secret” to connect the entire hall exhibition region as the main spirit.Using the glass is the medium, the union science and technology and the creation fresh idea, penetrates the new media creation (Digital Art), presents the video and music interaction art and equipment art. The “Children Glass Experience Pavilion” is built at the Vision Hall of Hsinchu City exhibiting 30 works in interactive operations with a combination of animation elements.

Apart from exhibiting a variety of artistic glass works, a forum discussing glass related theory and practices is also held. Furthermore, there are also other activities filled with spectacular contents, such as the diverse performances suitable for parent-child to enjoy and the live demonstrations of glass kilns blowing production process and thermoplastic techniques performed by glass artists. Through a series of static and dynamic exhibitions and performances, this festival provides all participants with an opportunity to get closer to glass arts in order for them to experience and understand the superb performances of glass involved in different aspects of industry, craftsmanship, arts, technology, academia, etc.

In the end, I would like to thank all glass artists and industries continuously contributing efforts to glass arts and presenting wonderful performances. I also would like to show my gratitude to people of glass industry, scholars and staff of the event for their efforts in organizing the festival and rendering successful activities and performances.

2012 年第九屆新竹市國際玻璃藝術節,精心

策劃的「科技玻璃藝術館」,此次邀請了 9 位

國內外藝術家,使用玻璃為媒介,結合新科技

,藝術家將「觀念藝術」運用創作新意,將藝

術精簡至最純粹的想法傳遞給觀者,呈現橫跨

新媒體創作、影音藝術、裝置藝術等領域,展

現出 9 件新穎有趣,令人耳目一新的玻璃新作

本屆科技館的展出結合不同領域的創意元素,

藉由「告訴你一個秘密」為發想,透過「互動

」與「體驗」的方式,呈現玻璃多元化面貌,

引領觀賞者進入科技玻璃的藝術殿堂,並將教

育意涵帶入規劃主軸,使科技玻璃藝術置入生

活空間,俱備美感與教育功能,帶來玻璃藝術

的新視野,破除科技藝術高不可攀的刻板印象

顏語(Colors Talking)

《顏語》利用三種顏色去看見世界。

作品用三種顏色作畫,使用光學原理結合視覺錯覺的小祕

密,透過紅、藍、綠三種玻璃濾鏡觀看,一幅畫中會呈現

不同風貌的畫作,如同在紛擾的社會中,事情雜亂的表相

之下,有著我們看不清的美好光景,藝術家想藉由作品提

醒觀者,凡事沒有絕對,當我們換不同角度看待時,將更

能夠感受生命的美好。

魔鏡(The Mirror)

看到《魔鏡》就會讓人聯想起童話故事中耳熟能詳的經典

名句:「魔鏡啊~魔鏡,誰是世界上最美麗的女人?」當

觀賞者與鏡子對應時,下一秒從鏡子裡卻突然冒出了一個

腦袋中槍的大鬍子叔叔。來自俄羅斯國寶級的科技玻璃藝

術家—康斯坦丁‧庫達克夫(Konstantin Khudyakov)所創作

的《魔鏡》集結了傳統與現代時空交錯的秘密,將義大利

威尼斯傳統的玻璃框與鏡面玻璃搭配,運用最新科技的全

像攝影術,將立體的物件以 2D 平面的方式呈現,集結了

驚、喜、奇、妙四種元素,為觀賞者帶來回味無窮的深刻

印象。《魔鏡》不僅是反射您的美貌,更是一幅隨時改變

內容的畫框,透過鏡面的反射,人與事物的交互作用,就

跟電影哈利波特的奇幻場景一樣,是一幅充滿生命力且會

活動的畫。

意鏡(Mirror with eyes)

藉由鏡子的感知與意圖來作為《意鏡》的秘密發想。透過

藝術家的設計,讓十二面的單向鏡面玻璃(one-way mirror

)各自獨立運動,賦予原本沉睡中的鏡子有了生命力,它

會跟隨著人們的步伐而翩翩起舞,彷彿是具有獨立思考的

生命個體。藝術家將此秘密拋磚引玉,讓日常生活中,看

似平凡的物件舞動起來,藉由主配角色的顛覆,期許觀者

重新思考物件與人彼此的關係定位,進而檢視自我產生省

思。

告訴你一個秘密(Telling a Secret)

作品來自藝術家觀察到人與人之間常有著說不出口的話語,傳遞私密

情感的的意念油然萌發,結合國內科技公司「乒乓話網」的頂尖雲端

技術,此作品將連結起海內外,為每一位來到新竹的觀眾發聲。

作品結構使用環保材質塑造出多個分離的小抽屜,表面如同耀眼黑、

紅寶石QR Code採用回收玻璃材質設計。每個抽屜代表「秘密」個體,

內含有各式各樣幽默風趣、令人莞爾一笑的錄音,觀者可與作品互動

,直接拉開抽屜竊聽秘密,或者經由智慧型手機,掃描紅色QR Code傳

送給指定的人「專屬祕密」,如果有人利用這件作品求婚,也不失為

一件佳話。

《告訴你一個秘密》讓玻璃科技藝術館不僅可以觀賞、可以玩、還可

以貼心的替民眾傳遞訊息,達到與民眾互動的效果,引領觀者進入五

感科技的新境界。

保庇保庇城隍廟(Bless the Cheng-Huang Temple)

保庇保庇城隍廟是互動體感的影音裝置作品,由來自台灣的叁式互動

新媒體設計團隊,將視覺藝術設計與硬體裝置等跨界整合執行,從

2006 年至今,持續活躍於國內外各具指標性之重要藝術活動,為全方

位兼具商業創意與藝術能量之互動新媒體團隊。在《保庇保庇城隍廟

》的作品裡,參觀民眾將可以化身為城隍內最具代表性的神偶-謝范

將軍,透過即時體感偵測與新竹特色名產進行趣味互動遊戲;除了在

時間內接住從天而降的貢丸、竹塹餅、米粉等特產外,搭配動感音樂

和舞蹈,作品兼具趣味性與教育性質,進而體現新竹在地文化特色之

台灣文化創意新面貌。

創造玻光璃影(Light Accelerator)

藝術家克利斯‧亨施克(Chris Henschke)是澳洲同步加速中心第一位

駐站藝術家,藝術家專長於科學與數位媒體,本次展出的《創造玻光

璃影》為全長三分鐘的錄像作品,是使用澳洲中心裏面直徑216公尺的

巨型機器,可以將電子加速至接近光速,當電子通過磁性區域而偏轉

時,會產生極為耀眼的光芒,將這種光影流竄的過程捕捉與記錄下來

,再以藝術手法後製轉化而成的動態影像作品。

由高科技捕捉到光的行進動態與色彩,作品中充滿速度感的鮮橘紅色

光,如同千年傳承下來的玻璃熔爐,不僅是單純的視覺呈現,彷彿象

徵著玻璃藝術家持續努力不懈的創作,促進玻璃藝術航向未知的新領

域,將跨領域結合藝術美學與實驗科學,反映出藝術家對於藝術創作

的迷戀和執著,透過本次展覽也讓觀眾了解到「藝術」與「科學」,

這兩者都永不枯竭的創造精神。

38號星球(Planet No.38)

來自加拿大的 38 號星球, 是一組以「綠能環保」為理念的設計燈飾

,設計師Omer Arbel 將傳統工藝技術融合現代設計,每一顆手工口吹

玻璃,不論形狀、位置及尺寸比例均不相同,失敗率極高,其成功的

秘密在於空氣推入玻璃之中的過程,將玻璃進行間歇性的冷卻與加熱

,將外圈的玻璃 blown,接著快速推進白色的配方,隨興的相互碰撞使

其成型,塑造出獨一無二的38號星球。整組作品運用口吹玻璃與雕塑

吊燈技術,融入藝術美學概念,結合來自大自然的藤蔓植物,這樣的

堅持與理念突破了一般燈具與傢俱給人的既定刻板印象,除了實用之

外,也能兼具視覺與感官的享受, 讓藝術走入生活的每一個角落。

水晶城(Crystal City)

來自韓國的藝術家李惠林,運用虛擬玻璃動畫為秘密,以 TOKI (韓文

的兔子)和卡通圖像作為創作主體,藝術家對於形體的描繪刻畫的非常

細膩,透過動漫的技巧討論兩性之間的關係,將卡漫置於香水瓶中,

透過感官上的刺激與誘惑,去虛擬出一個縮影的韓國精神世界,表現

出韓國女性對於兩性的觀念與看待世界的方式,使觀眾從作品的表現

中獲得共鳴,發人省思。

萬華鏡(Glimpse)

每個人都有專屬於自己的圖騰。

當代社會快速發展,生活經驗是豐富且獨特的,每個人生活在同樣環

境之中,也能創造出截然不同的生活故事。萬華鏡為一組視覺裝置作

品,外型為直徑1米長的多面體,內有十組不同的鏡頭設計,每組鏡

頭都安裝了特殊鏡片,使通過鏡頭的圖樣重新轉換呈現,將原始單純

的影像轉化為全然不同的樣貌。

作品關鍵秘密在於作者將圖樣以「都市生活形態」做為主題,運用 GPS

定位系統來追蹤都市人們的生活軌跡,繪製出十組獨一無二的圖騰,皆

有著不同的結構、不同的樣貌,但都是真實的存在且富有寓意。當觀賞

者藉由鏡頭觀看著各式圖像產生出不同變化時,就如同人們於生活中創

造著各種生活故事一般,是現代人與當代社會的行為寫照。

本屆「科技玻璃藝術館」除了展現結合雲端科技的新亮點之外,希望

利用「告訴你一個秘密」開創人與科技玻璃之間的互動新型態,透過

雅俗共賞、老少咸宜的展覽規劃,體驗科技文化的五感之美,期待參

觀民眾體驗到全新的玻璃科技展演,將珍貴的新知與體驗放入行囊,

滿載而歸。最後,要衷心感謝新竹市政府與新竹市文化局對策展單位

的信賴,加上文化局團隊給予協助,以及誠摯感謝乒乓話網、台寶玻

璃工業股份有限公司和台達電子股份有限公司的支持,使得本次展覽

得以順利進行。

Introduction Of Glass Technology Art Pavilion

Continuing the spirit of last Glass Art Festival, the 9th Hsinchu International Glass Technology Pavilion 2012 presents nine Taiwanese and international artists under the theme of 'Telling a Secret'. Using glass as their main inspiration, combined with technology and artistic innovation, their fascinating and refreshing installations cross the fields of New Media Creation, Video Sound, and Installation Arts. The art works demonstrate the diverse aspects and application of glass and make connections with the views through 'interaction' and 'experience'. Bringing educational implication into the project and technological arts into our everyday living, the exhibition will bring a new perspective on glass arts and break the popular perception of the technological arts being out of reach, thus, closing the distance between people and technological glass arts.

COLORS TALKINGCoors Talking uses three colors to see the world.The work is painted with three colors. Using the principle of optics and visual illusion, a painting shows different appearances when viewed through the three glass filters of red, blue and green. Like in the stirring society, under the surface of mess, there are beautiful sights we could not see clearly. The artist wants to remind us that nothing is definite. When we see things in different aspects, we can feel the beauty of life more deeply.

THE MIRRORThe project 'The Mirror' reminds the audience of the well-known line from the fairytale: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who in this land is fairest of all?” When the audience looks into the mirror, a bearded guy with a gunshot in his head suddenly pops out in the mirror. 'The Mirror' was designed by Konstantin Khudyakov, a national treasure of Russia, gathers the secrets of past-present time, crossing and merging the traditional glass frames of Venice with mirrors. Using the latest holographic technology, the artist renders 3D objects in 2D images and the combination of surprise, joy, wonder, and wit leaves the audience with an endless aftertaste. 'Mirrors' not only reflects the viewer’s beauty, it also functions as a constantly altering painting. Just like the fantastic scenes in the movie 'Harry Potter', the reflections on the mirrors and the interaction between people and their environment make the painting full of life and energy.

MIRROR WITH EYESThe secret of 'Mirror with Eyes' is inspired by the senses and intentions of the mirrors. The twelve one-way mirrors work individually under the artist's design. Given energy of life, the sleeping mirrors rise and dance like living individuals with independent thinking ability while the audience walk by. The artist throws out a sprat by making the common objects in our daily lives alive to catch a whale. With the switch of roles between leading and supporting, the artist hopes to get people to reconsider the relationship of man and objects and further examine oneself to collect thoughts.

TELLING A SECRETThere are always emotions difficult to be expressed and words hard to be spoken from one person to another. Thus, the idea of delivering such unspeakable secrets sprouted in the artist's mind. Using the cloud technology provided by YPCall, a Taiwan technology company, the project connects Taiwan to the world and speaks for every viewer.The work is made of several separated drawers crafted with environmental-friendly materials. Each drawers consist of several pre-recorded secrets, the audience can interact with the device by opening the drawers and revealing secrets or scanning the red and black “glass” QR Codes with a smart phone, the device will deliver a message to the cloud system, and instantly, the audience can hear the secrets from the opened drawers of from their smart phones.

“Telling A Secret” makes Glass Technology Pavilion a place where the audience can not only admire art works and have fun, but also enjoy the service of message delivery. While achieving the goal of interaction, this installation art work leads the audience into a new realm of 5 senses technology.

BLESS THE CHENG-HUANG TEMPLE‘Bless the Cheng-Huang Temple’ is a motion-based interactive media device. The new media design team Ultra Combos from Taiwan crosses fields such as visual art design and hardware devices and integrate them together into execution. Since 2006, Ultra Combos has been active in numerous emblematic art events at home and abroad, a team skilled at interactive New Media with commercial creativity and art power. In this project, the audience will be playing as two of the most representative Gods in Cheng-Huang Temple, General Fan and General Hsieh and enjoy an interesting interactive game in which the players have to catch the local specialty goods of Hsinchu falling from the top of the screen. Combining dynamic music with dance, this project is not only fun but also educational and brings a new and creative face to the local culture of Taiwan.

Introduction Of Glass Technology Art Pavilion

LIGHT ACCELERATORChris Henschke is the first artist-in-residence at the Australian Synchrotron, an artist specialising in both science and digital media. ‘Light Accelerator’ is a video in three minutes length. The massive machine (216 meters in diameter) at the Australian Synchrotron can accelerate electrons to almost the speed of light. As electrons are deflected through magnetic fields, they create extremely bright light. The procedure is captured, recorded and rendered using art methods by the artist as moving images.

The captured motions and colors of light by high technology fill the image frame with speeding bright red and orange light. Like the glass forge that lasts for thousand years, it's not only simple visual images, but also agitates the flaming hot memories of creations. The project shows how the Glass Technological Pavilion puts Art and Science together, reflecting the obsession and persistence on two different fields. Through this exhibit, the audience can get a glimpse of how Art and Science fuel with inpirations art and creativity.

PLANET NO.38Planet No. 38 from Canada is a set of designed lights based on the concept of 'Green Environment'. Omer Arbel, the designer, combines traditional crafting skill and modern designing. The shapes, positions and sizes are not the same with every blown glass artifacts, making the procedure difficult to accomplish. The key to successfully completing one is to intermittently heat and cool the glass during the procedure. The glass then is blown and a multitude of white cavities are rapidly introduced into it, haphazardly colliding with each other and eventually sculpturing the one and only Planet No.38. The whole project, blended with the concept of art aesthetic, uses of the techniques of blown glass crafting and suspension lights in combination with vine plants from nature. Such experiment break the stereotypical impressions people have about furniture. Apart from functional, the light sets also contain visual enjoyments, spreading arts into every corner of our daily living.

CRYSTAL CITYThe artist, Hye Rim Lee, from Korea uses virtual glass animation as her secret. Using toki (rabbit in Korean) and cartoon graphics as main structure, the artist takes great concentration on details in painting. Putting comic rabbits into perfume bottles, this video art work talks about the relationships between two genders through animation.

The artist simulates an epitome of Korea in spiritual level using of sense stimulation and temptation, showing the thoughts of Korean feminine on two genders and how they see the world. The work seeks to cause consonance in the audience's minds and inspiration.

GLIMPSEEveryone has a totem shared with no one else.In the contemporary complex-senses societies, the form of life is unique and colorful even though, on the same condition and with different points of view, we can discover the distinct form of life. ‘Glimpse’ uses a flexible optical device—a polyhedron one meter in diameter—equipped with ten sets of different lens. The device can assemble and disassemble the images repeatedly and convert the existing scenery into a whole different look. The key to this project is that it's based on cities and form of life and it utilizes the wide range of multimedia to illustrate the beauty of modern societies. There are ten unique scenarios images in this project. Every set is an individual unit with a different structure and distinct characteristics. They are virtual but with hidden as well as real meanings. If we combine these ten scenarios, we will get a clear picture of what the contemporary society is.

Apart from highlighting the cloud technology, the exhibit hosted in Glass Technology Pavilion wishes to create a new form of interaction between people and technological glass using the idea of 'telling a secret'. The exhibition is catered to everyone’s like, hope People of all ages can enjoy themselves when visiting this pavilion. We hope to present a brand new experience of glass technology exhibition and hope the audience will end this unforgettable visit with precious knowledge. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Hsinchu City Government and Hsinchu Cultural Affairs Bureau for putting their trust on Star Gallery to curate this parvilion. Also without the help of the team members of Cultural Affairs Bureau we could not accomplish the job. 2011年畢業展「The Nine Exhibition」展出「

Colors Talking」受到各界好評,展後隨即受邀

參加隔年的玻璃藝術節。

同年七月和其他三位藝術家在新光美術館舉辦「

長庚大學工業設計系媒體傳達組首屆星光聯展,

Check Exhibition」

作品多半深受超現實主義以及達達主義影響,擅

用各種不同的形象去探討現實的扭曲及矛盾。

Born in Taipei Taiwan in 1988. Graduated from

Chang Gung University Media and Visual

Communication Design.

In 2011 May, he exhibited the work: "Colors

Talking" with many praise, then invited to

participate in the exhibition of glass art festival in

2012. He also has an exhibition call “Check

Exhibition” with other three artists in Shin Kong

Art Gallery in June of the same year.

His works always been influenced by Surrealism

and Dadaism. He is good to using various images

to describe the contradictions and distortions of

reality.

region of Russia in 1945. He currently lives and

1980年出生於台灣台北,13歲隨著家裡移民至加

拿大。於2004年畢業於安大略藝術設計學院後的

八年裡,相繼在加拿大、美國、臺灣、中國大陸

與義大利從事產品設計的工作。於2010年在義大

利取得了設計碩士學位後返台成立大未來創意設

計股份有限公司(nbt.STUDIO)。設計以多元文化

融合為基礎,致力於環保材質推廣與應用,以台

灣為起點提倡新生活思維。

2012年四月受邀於米蘭家具設計展的衛星展

SaloneSatellite中展出,首次以環保&科技為主

題,運用各種不同的環保材質結合新的科技應用

與加工技術設計出一系列的“新環保概念傢俱”

。 因受到台灣本土的優秀企業的支持與協助,使

得參展過程能順利進行與展出的成品更加完整。

也因此獲得了許多國際媒體與參訪者的關注與回

饋。(當中包括在綠色設計界很有影響力的

Inhabitat網站,英國的路透社與法國的Marie

Claire雜誌等等)。現階段持續與臺灣本地的各個

Ultra Combos is a company of interactive New

Media design founded in 2010.

The idea of the name “Ultra Combos” came from

the generic term of the three most important

divinatory tricks in ancient China. When looking

for novel ideas for our clients, we hope to have

broad but thorough thinking just like the “Ultra

Combos” divination. With our interactive

technology and innovative ideas, we skillfully

combine art with tricks into our creative projects.

We are professionals in crossover integration

execution services such as all kinds of interactive

programs, visual art designs and hardware devices.

克利斯‧亨施克是位自學成才的藝術家,自 1988

年他的專業包括科學與數位媒體,因此,他的創作

傾向跨領域的整合應用。他是澳洲同步加速中心第

一位駐站藝術家。藝術家將電子通過磁性區域而偏

轉時,會產生極為耀眼的光芒,將這種過程捕捉與

記錄下來,再以藝術性角度出發,藉由後製轉化而

成動態影像創作作品,用超廣角鏡頭和一鏡到底的

手法,帶領觀者進入看到現場因為鏡頭移動而不斷

扭曲變形的另外一種光學景觀。杭仕克以融合藝術

美學與實驗科學,大量而多樣的創作成果,反映了

他身兼藝術家與科學家雙重身分的一個迷戀和執著

,透過新媒體錄像詮釋也讓觀者了解到這兩者都永

不枯竭的創造精神,目前已是國際上著名的藝術家

,並在許多地方做新媒體及何科學的藝術演講,如

:墨爾本皇家理工大學和維多利亞藝術中心等。

Chris Henschke is a self-taught artist who has been

working with digital media since 1988. His main

areas of practice are in sound and visual

relationships, and collaborative art / science

experiments. His artworks have been shown

around Australia and internationally. He lectures

in media at RMIT University and 'Art vs Science at

the Victorian College of the Arts' Centre for Ideas.

He is Director of Experimental Applications at the

V-Room at RMIT University, and is Artist in

Residence at the Australian Synchrotron, and was

organiser of 'Colliding Ideas - Art, society and

Physics' satellite symposium to the 36th

International Conference of High Energy Physics,

5-8 July 2012, where the announcement of the

discovery of the Higgs Boson was made.

來自加拿大的設計師:歐邁‧阿爾貝爾其致力於

將不同的傳統工藝技術融合現代設計。歐邁‧阿

爾貝爾不斷開發與尋找技術創新,結合了口吹玻

璃與雕塑吊燈技術,並融入藝術美學概念,經典

的手工口吹技術,每一顆燈球的氣泡紋路,凹槽

方向及其光澤亮度都獨一無二,結合盆栽藝術與

燈具,甚至細心地處理連結吊線,使其靈活得像

植物的莖,賦予新生命,讓綠能環保不再是口號

,不僅突破了一般燈具給人的既定刻板印象,更

兼具視覺與感官的享受,讓藝術走入生命,將大

自然融入生活中的每一個角落。

38 is a surrealistically motivated re-exploration of

a technique of making originally developed for a

previous project called 28, whereby air is pushed

in and out of glass that is intermittently heated

and cooled. In the case of this project, the

technique is stretched to the limits of possibility.

Large glass spheres are blown, and then a

multitude of white cavities are introduced into

them haphazardly, intentionally intersecting and

colliding with each other. Several of these are

deep enough to contain earth and succulent and

cacti plantings. Others are used as housings for

lighting elements. There are two or three lighting

elements per large sphere, and one or two

planters. Electricity and suspension are achieved

using stiff copper tubing, which is allowed to

tangle and crinkle, seemingly without regard for

gravity. Once in a while, these copper tubes loop

around satellite white planters, appearing to have

escaped from the confines of the lit clear glass

spheres.

HYE RIM LEE (Seoul, Korea 1963. She lives and

works in New York, USA, and Auckland, New

Zealand) Hye Rim Lee was born in Seoul, Korea.

In 1993 she moves to New Zealand, where she

graduated in Inter-media studies at Auckland

University. Working with 3D-animation

technology, she investigates and questions

computer gaming and cyber culture, and the role

of art in the crossing of high technology with

popular culture. Her work is initially rooted in

the challenges facing the Asian community

settled in New Zealand, but in 2002 she begins

her ongoing TOKI/Cyborg Project, in which she

explores the representation of a female character,

TOKI, thus examining the way fictional animated

identities are propagated in contemporary

popular culture. Speaking of the manipulation

and perception of female sexual identity

worldwide, she challenges the conventions of the

traditionally male-dominated worlds of game

structure and 3D animation, specifically when it

comes to virtualized images of women. She has

participated in major exhibitions in New Zealand,

Asia, Europe and New York.

1988年出生,現就讀於台灣科技大學設計所,是

台灣新生代多媒體設計師,專長為品牌設計、商

業攝影及多媒體藝術領域。2011年於台北成立工

作室「willahsiang.com」以品牌設計、資訊介

面及感性材質應用為發展方向,至今執行過多項

商品設計、形象規劃、商業攝影等工作。向文君

於大學期間於國內外參與多項品牌設計、商業展

演、表演藝術等工作,更於2011年以作品「

Floating 漂流」獲得國際創意年度獎攝影組首

獎,為台灣地區唯一獲獎人,並於同年入選

Adobe設計卓越成就獎,至今於美、英、台等地

參與過多項展覽活動。

Born in 1988. Work kindly on loan from The

Media+Visual Communication Department, Chang

Gung University. Now she is a current student of

the department of industrial and commercial

design of National Taiwan University of Science

and Technology and she is also an upcoming

young multi-media designer, specializing in

branding, commercial photography and

multi-media art. In 2011, Wen-Chun Hsiang

established her studio,”willahsing.com”, aiming at

branding, interface of information and the

application of perceptual materials. So far, she has

been operating many cases, including commercial

product design, image planning, and commercial

photography.

Back in the time in university, Wen-Chun Hsiang,

not only inland but also overseas, participated in

all kinds activities of branding, commercial

performances, and performing arts. Furthermore,

one of her works, “Floating”, earned her the first

prize in creativity annual awards of photography

and she was the only one in Taiwan who got this

award in 2011. At the same year, this work,

“Floating”, was selected by Adobe as Adobe Design

Achievement Awards and now still on traveling

exhibit in USA, UK, Taiwan, etc

The Media+Visual Communication Department,

Chang Gung University

Human society is immersed in a vast network of

communicated information consisting of media

artifacts— our technologies have become mobile,

our storymaking fragmentary, our impressions of

‘meaning’ dynamic. How can we benefit from

these changes, whilst navigating and engaging

with these aspects of modern life?

The BA Degree awarded by the Media+Visual

Communication Department educates students in

how to ‘shape’ threads of meaning to form a rich

tapestry of creative storytelling potentials,

meaningful dialogues, social interactions and

visual stories. Traditional disciplines such as Fine

Art Printmaking and Typography, have regained

significance in the MVC classroom, where students

also interact with new and dynamic conditions at

the formative stages of their education. Our

curriculum integrates time honoured crafts with

the boundless potentials of modern technology

parallel with, and complementary to, established

conventions in design.

MVC’s mission is to advance ‘graphic design’ and

‘designing’ as a highly professional craft, strategic

tool and vital cultural force within the regional

design community. Our Department aims to be

the premier place for design professionals and

industry to discover, appreciate and be inspired by

the new generation of designers we educate. We

aim to set the industry standard.
