กอนอนตองขอแสดงความเสยใจกบผประสบอทกภยครงยงใหญครงนดวย แมเหตการณนจะทำาใหทกคนยงหวาดผวาอยกอยาเพงทอแทหรอถอดใจจนไมมกำาลงใจจะตอสกบภยพบตนอก เพราะเหตการณครงนเปนสญญาณเตอนใหพวกเรารวาเราจะนงเฉย

อยไมได เราตองมการเตรยมพรอม และปรบเปลยนพฤตกรรมในการใชพลงงาน และทรพยากรตางๆ ใหคมคา ชวยกนดแลรกษาสภาพแวดลอมใหมาก ถงเราจะมเขอนหลายแหงทคอยรบนำา แตถาหากเราไมชวยกนดแลสภาพแวดลอม ภยพบตทเกดขนกคงจะทวความรนแรง และสรางความเสยหายใหกบพชผลทางการเกษตร บานเรอน ถนนหนทางอยางไมมทสนสด ดงนน เรามาชวยกนอนรกษพลงงานและสงแวดลอมเสยตงแตวนน

First of all, I would like to extend my greatest sympathy to the flood victims. We may be terrified and upset, and yet we cannot be despon-dent. Rather, we need to learn from this unfortunate calamity and be always well prepared. It is vital that we change our behavior with respect to use of energy and the environment and take better care of our sur-roundings. Dams are in profusion in Thailand indeed, but if we take the environment for granted, such a disaster will certainly be worse and ruin more of our agricultural products, houses, roads and other infrastructure. Thus, it is time we begin to preserve and conserve energy and the environment.

Khemasiri Memorial School has two classroom buildings which connect to each other forming an L shape. There are six classrooms on each floor of one building whereas the other has eight. The eight-classroom building has served students for so many years that it became somewhat dilapi-dated and needed to be rebuilt. A new building will replace the old one which will be torn down in 2013. Students who study in this building will move to a temporary class-room until the new building is ready.

ผมขอนำาคำาสอนของพระเดชพระคณหลวงพอพทธทาส ยกขนกลาวซำาอกครงหนงวา “เดก ๆ จะเปนผสรางโลกในอนาคต” เดก ๆ จะสรางโลกในอนาคตไดอยางไร กขนอยกบผใหญเปนผปอนขอมล ขอมลผดบดเบอนไมตรงกบความจรง สอนใหเขาเปนคนชวราย โหดเหยม บาปหยาบชาไรศลธรรม เขากจะเปนเชนนน และเขาจะสรางโลกในอนาคตเชนนนดวย ในทางกลบกน หากปอนขอมลทแจมแจง ถกตอง อดมไปดวยปญญา รผดรถก รดรชว ดำารงมนอยในความดงาม ไมตองสงสยเลยวาโลกในอนาคตจะนาอยเพยงไร ศลธรรมกลบมาโลกากไมวนาศ เดก ๆ จะทำาลายโลกหรอคำาจนโลกขนอยกบผใหญเปนผชนำาทำาเปนตวอยางเทานน

Good day, dear students

The end of academic’s year come so quickly, time is flying. For students, in the contrary, they fell, time’s mechanism got rusty, without punctual as a strike of the clock. Senior prepares them for graduation and an-ticipates continuing on to the next level, University that is the place within their dream. Liberation and unchain from relentless rule and regulation, teacher obedience.

Compare to bitter remedy known affected but no one desire. Do you realize that, the expression in loving kindness, compassion, sympathy, caring concern and even punishment are the act of teachers’ loving and car-ing, Alumna’s description reminiscent to approve this act.

Venerable Buddhatad Bikhu used to say “The future world is in Children’s hand”. How do they create the future world? Depend on adult guideline. If false infor-mation persuade to collapse their mind, lost of morality and virtue would cause the witless, ferocious, reckless world. If we put in their mind is right, wholesome with love, compassion, sharing and caring, imagine that, what the future world would be. Would they annihilate or create the flip of hand thumb up or thumb down are us adult to decide.

Our school dedicated to educate our students with Knowledge and morality is considered perfect educa-tion. My felicitate and wishful to all students and en-courage your ambitious aspiration to the road of suc-cessfulness.

เครอขายผปกครอง

ในปการศกษา 2554 คณะกรรมการเครอขายผปกครองโรงเรยนเขมะสรอนสสรณ ไดมการปรบเปลยนคณะทำางานเนองจากมกรรมการหลาย ทานครบวาระในการดำารงตำาแหนง และกรรมการบางทานลกหลานไดยายโรงเรยน มจำานวนถง 8 ทาน จากคณะกรรมการเครอขายฯทงหมด 12 ทาน จงสงผลใหการดำาเนนกจกรรมตางๆขาดความตอเนอง และสะดดไปชวขณะหนงเพราะเปนชวงเวลาของการเปลยนแปลงการทำางาน กบทงตองมาประสบกบมหาอทกภยเมอปลายป 2554 ทำาใหคณะกรรมการเครอขายฯชดปจจบนซงนบเปนชดทสามยงไมคอยมผลการดำาเนนงานปรากฏเดนชดเทาทควร

The Khemasiri Memorial School Parents Network

Academic Year 2011 saw changes in the Khemasiri Memorial School Parents Network with respect to its working committee. Some commit-tee members had completed their term while others had their daughters pursue their education at other schools. With eight out of the twelve members leaving the committee, the Parents Network experienced a temporary pause in its tasks. Toward the end of the year, floods hit Bangkok, preventing the Khemasiri Memorial School Parents Network from carrying out as many activities as it had planned.

However, the Khemasiri Memorial School Parents Network had a chance to participate in the 23rd Academic Fair carried out by the School on February 2-4, 2011 to celebrate the Sixth Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. On that oc-casion, the Parents Network organized an exhibition entitled “His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej: the Nature and Environmental Conservationist” to honor our revered King. In addition, the Parents Network arranged a variety of demonstration activities including how to make multi-purpose bio-liquid and natural fertilizer. At the Fair, the Parents Network prepared gifts for students who took part in the activi-ties as well.

Special Report

From the Administration to the Flood Victims Thailand’s worst ever floods that struck many provinces wrought tre-mendous damages to the people and country and even Khemasiri Me-morial School fell victim to the floods. Although it was not severely af-fected, the School had to postpone all classes of the second semester till December. Teachers and students who lived in a flood-stricken area had to evacuate and seek refuge in a safer place. When the School started again and the teachers returned to their work, the administra-tions of Khemasiri Memorial School, Harima School and Wat Samai Suwan School joined forces to donate a sum of money to provide relief for flood victims.

On March 12, 2012, Metropolitan Electricity Authority con-ferred the Energy Mind Award to Khemasiri Memorial School and Mrs. Tharinee Yingthawon for their achievement in the conservation of energy. The award included certificate, trophy and a sum of 60,000 Baht.

On January 9, 2012, the Guidance Club, in collaboration with test venues throughout the country, organized an academic compe-tency test. Salinthip Sathaphonthanasin won the top overall scores of the district in the pre-junior secondary level of the Triam Udom - Mahidol section while Kanyanat Surawan won the top overall scores of the district in the pre-junior secondary level of the general knowledge section.

On February 4, 2012, Toyota Motor Thai-land Co., Ltd. organized the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest and had experts share their knowledge and experience with Prathom 1-Matthayom 3 students at the School’s Torsri Building so as to select the best work for an international contest. The work by the P. 3/4 student, Suchanari Wongsri, or Opal, was chosen.

Prathom 6 students—Athicha Chonprathan, Natwadee Chao-anachin and Nattharika Phasuk—was a runner-up at the Fun with Thai Contest in the “Ruam Chai Phak Rak Siam” Festival held by Niyomthai Association, in collaboration with Ministry of Culture and Siam University, on March 9, 2012.

During February 10-20, 2012, teachers and students of Kanto Inter-national Senior High School from Japan paid a visit to Khemasiri Me-morial School for a cultural exchange between the two institutions. In so doing, they took part in a variety of activities arranged by the Thai School, including sightseeing trips to Thailand’s significant destina-tions.

Khemasiri Memorial School arranged a party to celebrate the sixth cycle birthday of Miss Kalyani Chakshuraksha, the School’s director at Sooksrisamorn Hall on January 15, 2012. Many alumni and teachers attended the celebration to wish the director a happy and fruitful birthday and enjoy the food and the shows by teachers and students as well as her nieces and nephews.

Khemasiri Memorial School arranged a food-offering and merit-making activity to honor teachers on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day on January 16, 2012. The School’s director represented all of the teachers in receiving a garland from the student president.

Khemasiri Memorial School organized the 2011 Sports Day on December 30, 2011 whereby students competed in many sporting events and recreational games.

Khemasiri Memorial School accepted 113 Prathom 4 – 6 students to join the Science Camp on January 21-22, 2012. The School received honors from Ms. Ratchanee Siribophit, lecturer from IPST, and Science teachers from Wat Nimmannoradi School, Phasi Charoen District.

On January 18, 2012, KMS students participated in activi-ties to enhance reading and generate an inspiration for the creation of literary works at Sooksrisamorn Hall. On this same occasion, the stu-dents also attended the opening of a new novel The Beekeeper’s Apprentice—one of the best juvenile literature and met the translator of the world-class Harry Potter.

On March 9, 2012, the farewell cere-mony was held at the Sooksrisamorn Hall for all Matthayom 3 and Matthayom 6 students to allow the students to apologize to their teachers for their past offense as well as to preserve the Thai culture that has been passed on for many generations.

Life of the Boarding Students

Life of the boarding students at Khemasiri Memo-rial School differ from that of regular students who come to school in the morning and return home to their parents in the evening. These boarders have to make their home at school and live with a lot of other students. They also need to abide by rules and regulations set out by the School’s Boarding Unit. For instance, they need to eat and sleep at a certain time. Although they do not have to do any house-work, they have to take part in activities together. In particular, they are required to attend manner and etiquette sessions, listen to Dharma teaching and pray before bedtime. During weekends, they can take a variety of such field trips as bird-watching at Bang Pu and sightseeing at Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market.

A Taekwondo Black-Belt Athlete

Taekwondo is one of my hobbies which, sometimes, cause me some problems about time management as I have to practice and study hard at the same time. Once the Taekwondo Association of Thailand required that I practice from 8 am to 10 pm for one week. However, because I could not skip all classes, I had to leave school and went for the practice in the afternoon. I was really tired at the time and never thought I would make it to the national level. Now I realize that the practice actually has a lot of advantages. Not only do I have a chance to exercise regularly, I also learn to manage time effectively and become more enthusi-astic with my study. I am now more diligent with my homework, and so the practice does not have a negative effect at all on my study. My parents have been very proud of me since I joined the national team and practiced with them. I am so glad that I make my parents happy. I can give the rewards and allowance I earn to my parents. I am very happy that my parents understand me and are proud of what I have achieved.

A Figure Skater

My name is Suthatta Yilansuwan. I started figure skating when I was ten years old. My mother took me to the skating rink and encouraged me to take a figure skating class. As it turned out, I was cut out for it and picked it up very fast. Then my skating teacher entered me into a competition and I finished first. After that, I started doing figure skat-ing seriously and constantly practicing it. I would spend three hours from 5-8 pm. on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and take tutorials on the rest. I joined the national team under Figure Skating and Speed Skating Association of Thailand when I was fourteen. Figure skating brings me a lot of benefits. First, I spend my free time on a use-ful thing. My concentration is also better. I become a more responsible and self-disciplined person. Figure skating is a good way that helps re-lieve stress and improves my study. Most importantly, I get to do what I love. At presently, I am a national junior figure skater. I compete in the singles category. I am practicing ice dancing and coaching at the Ice Planet, Siam Discovery.

Taekwondo

I started taking taekwondo when I was a little over six years old. I always dreamt of becoming a professional taekwondo athlete and joined the national team to compete in the Olympics. After school, I usually spent three hours, from 5-8 pm, every day practicing taekwondo at the gym. I experienced many things and met many new friends. I also became physically stronger and learned about sportsmanship. I have been taking tae-kwondo classes for eight straight years, during which I took part in numerous competitions and won countless awards. I just hope now that I will have a chance to bring a gold medal to Thailand.

A Thai Traditional Dancer

Thai classical dancing is the culture in which I have been interested since I was young. Every time I dance, I have a lot of fun and am very happy. If someone asked me how Thai classical meant to me, it would say it is my soul. It is something ab-sorbed in me and I just feel it all the time. Once after a Thai classical dancing show, an old woman approached me. She said to me, “Don’t desert Thai dances.” When I heard that, I promised myself I would never quit Thai classical dancing for sure. Before each show, I would think about all my dance teachers and the great teachers of Thai clas-sical dancing as that would give me more confi-dence to perform the beautiful and delicate show. By doing the Thai dancing, I gain many benefits. I learn to manage time wisely and practice my con-centration and patience at the same time. Finally, I pledge that no matter what I become in the future, I will always preserve and pass on the knowledge of Thai classical dancing to younger generations so this area of Thai culture continues to live on.

A Go-Kart Racer

My name is Atirat Rotchanasathian. I am a Go-Kart racer. I joined the motorsport because of my passion for cars, speed and competition. Personally, when I was just a kid, I would drive those toy cars at department stores. My first racing competition began at the 2003 UBC Toyota Junior Go-Kart Training whereby I raced in the 60 cc. category. Then I kept moving up in the racing categories and am now competing in the 250 cc. category. I have taken part in many racing competitions for eight years and won a number of awards. I also had a chance to compete at an international event in the ASIN Kart Open Championship so as to test Thai racers against foreign athletes. I might be proud of the awards I earned, but sportsmanship and friendship I have gained are the most important things to me. No matter how tough the competitions are and how competitive the racers are, we remain friends after the competition. Moreover, as a racer, I learn to cope with problems better and behave myself more appropriately around adults. I have more courage to do things and become more sociable. I also apply what I have learned from Go-Kart racing into my study and life more effectively. It is such a privilege for me to have joined the motorsport.
