    INTRODUCTION:1. Adjective phrases are defined as phrases

    in which an adjective functions

    as the head of the phrase.

    Example:

    1. The pizza is very spicybut quite small.

    2. People angrywith the high prices is Tim.

    REDUCING

    AN ADJ.CLAUSE TO AN ADJ. PHRASE

    Clause: Ms Harrison who isthe vice president of the company was promoted.

    Phrase: Ms Harrison vice presidentof the company was promoted.

    Clause: The car that wasstolen from Tom was Toyota

    Phrase: The car stolenfrom Tom was Toyota

    Clause:The woman who teaches Psychology was educated at Yale

    Phrase: The woman teaching Psychology was educated at Yale

    1.Verb TO BE: Eliminate the subject and the be-verb

    2. If there is no Beverb, eliminate the subjectand change the verb to Ing
