Fiber Brite® is a Fiberglass reinforced Plastic (FrP) that comes with a ten-year warranty. FrP is the only plastic to pass a series of laboratory and field tests to meet government plastic sign panel requirements for traffic and street sign usage. Fiber Brite®plastic is more compatible with plastic reflective sheeting than aluminum, which has to be treated with an alodine coating to help adhere to the sheeting. Fiber Brite® signs last longer, roads stay safer and signs are replaced less frequently.

Fiber Brite® is available in different sizes and thicknesses to be used under every condition and for practically any task. Fiber Brite® replaces up to 1” thick wood and aluminum laminates at a lower cost. the panel may be used in place of labor-intensive MDo without painting, priming or sealing. it’s a great substitute for 0.30 - 0.100 gauge aluminum and 3mm - 1omm Pvc without the outdoor performance failures. lt’s the substrate of choice around water, chemicals and electricity or where outdoor durability is important.

Fiber Brite® is made with a polyester thermosetting resin that hardens and becomes irreversibly set when cured. this procedure allows the material to resist fading, denting, creasing, shattering, warping, rusting and delaminating. Fiber Brite® is uv stabilized and not affected by extreme heat or severe cold. lt may be utilized in extreme weather conditions: from desert highways in Arizona to colorado ski resorts. this is why FrP is used as the product of choice for a variety of applications such as sign panel production, boat and motor home construction, truck and trailer floors.

unique polyester composition allows the sign to flex under extreme pressure and then rebound back to shape. the fiberglass in the panel provides a pound for pound strength greater than steel, because most chemicals don’t affect the panel, graffiti washes off. the color is impregnated into the entire panel so a scratch or a chip will not affect the overall visibility and the need for expensive background sheeting is eliminated.

No painting, priming, or edge sealing is necessary.Fiber Brite® is receptive to paint, ink, vinyl, heat transfer, and die sublimation. FrP may be punched, routed, engraved, screwed, nailed, glued, drilled or cut using standard shop equipment. the panels come in different shapes and sizes, rounded corners or custom made holes. NEW FEdERAl RUlES ON BREAK-AWAy SIGN SUppORTS ARE REqUIREd

on December 21, 2007, the Department of transportation, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued Final regulations governing the Manual on uniform traffic control Devices for streets and Highways (MutcD); Maintaining traffic sign retroreflectivity. this Final rule is far reaching in effect and applies to most regulatory, warning, street name, and both ground-mounted and overhead guide signs - whether permanent, temporary or portable - on all public roads and private property where the public is invited to travel.

this rule is a result of a congressional directive in section 406 of the Department of transportation and related Agencies Appropriations Act, 1993 (Public law 102-388; oct. 6, 1992). that act directed the secretary of transportation to revise the MutcD to include a standard for minimum levels of retroreflectivity that must be maintained for traffic signs and pavement markings. this rule applies only to traffic signs. the FHWA is expected to promulgate a rule for pavement markings at a later date.

As a property owner or manager, you need to understand the implications and risks associated with this law, and what to do to keep your customers safe while traveling on your property.

if the public travels on property that you own or manage, your traffic signs, pavement markings, and other traffic control devices are now required to conform to the Manual on uniform traffic control Devices (MutcD).

effective January 16, 2007, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) amended the united states code (u.s.c.) to clarify the applicability of the MutcD to ANY road open to public travel. that includes privately owned property where the public travels. examples are shopping centers, office and apartment complexes, and even recreation facilities.

the MutcD, which is the national standard used for all roads open to public travel, states that roadside sign supports in the clear zone shall be breakaway, yielding, or shielded. this requirement applies to roads, whether publicly owned or privately owned. All of the above signs are assembled with decorative posts, brackets and Fiber Brite® sign panels. Fiber Brite® is the sign industry’s alterative to expensive laminates, labor some MDo, damage prone aluminum and climatically unstable Pvc. it is a fiberglass reinforced plastic sign panel that was developed to replace aluminum. With a 10 year warranty, Fiber Brite® is the best panel to use around water, chemicals, eletricity or where uv outdoor resistance and durability are important.

Please call for this number before returning goods to AFt. on any orders returned due to an AFt error, we will mail you a call tag or arrange for a pickup at our expense. on any orders returned due to a customer error, the customer will be responsible for the freight and arranging a pickup. return order numbers will expire 30 days after issuance, so do not delay in returning products to AFt.
