Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prize for Women Contri-bution to Development 10th Edition (1436H- 2015G)

The Prize aims to RECOGNIZE, ENCOURAGE, INSPIRE and

REWARD women’s participation in the socio-economic development process.

Theme and Topics In order to highlight various issues shaping our world and their specific effects on women, the theme of the Prize varies each year and is further specified into topics for the individual and organization categories. The Theme for the 1436H/2015G Prize is “WOMEN’S CONTRIBUTION TO

WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT.”

STDF Support of Scientific Events (STDF-SSE) (Conferences, Seminars, Forums, Workshops, Training

Schools & Courses)

the STDF Board of Directors has approved the launching of an open new fund-ing mechanism on a competitive basis, to Support of Scientific Events (STDF-SSE), with the aim of providing universities and scientific research institutions with financial support for holding seminars, forums, workshops, training cours-es & conferences. With this grant, STDF supports both the human resources capacity building and the dissemination of information on science and technolo-gy in Egypt, both of which are main components of STDF's mandate.

Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prizes for Science and Technology-13th Edition (1436H- 2015G)

The IDB Prizes for S&T consist of three (3) prizes awarded on the occa-sion of the Annual Meeting of the IDB Board of Governors. Each prize will consist of a cash award of one hundred thousand (100,000) US dol-lars, a trophy and a certificate mentioning the name of the winner and its accomplishments.

PRIZE CATEGORIE

The Prizes are awarded only to institutions (not to individuals) in IDB member countries in the following categories: Category 1: Outstanding scientific or technological contribution to the socio-economic development of a member country. Category 2: Outstanding contribution to any of the following scientific disciplines: Engineering; Agriculture; Medicine; Biotechnology; Information Tech-

nology; Optronics; Material Sciences; Pharmaceutical; Industrial Microe-

lectronics; Nanotechnology and alternative Energy Sources. Category 3: Noted scientific research institutions in IDB least developed member countries (LDMCs).

Chevening/Durham Partnership Award for Masters Students in UK, 2015-2016

Applications are invited for Chevening award available for pursuing one year masters program at Durham University. Up to ten awards will be offered to suc-cessful candidates from all Chevening-eligible countries. This award includes full tuition fees for the chosen course at Durham. Selected candidates will also receive the same allowance and stipend package as a main Chevening Award.

IPNI Science Award for International Students, 2014

International Plant Nutrition Institute offers science award for internation-al students. Awards are available for pursuing graduate degree (M.S. or PhD) at a degree-granting institution located in any country. The recipient receives a plaque and a monetary award of US$5,000.00 (five thousand dollars). Private or public sector agronomists, crop scientists, soil scien-tists, and food scientists from all countries are eligible for nomination. The Award recognizes outstanding achievements in research, extension, or education which focus on efficient and effective management of plant nutrients and their positive interaction in fully integrated crop production, enhancing yield potential, and/or improving crop quality.

Westminster International Scholarships for Developing Coun-tries’ Students in UK, 2015

University of Westminster offers international scholarships for students from developing countries to pursue master program. These fully funded scholar-ships will include full tuition fee waiver, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of aca-demic excellence, financial need and development potential. Preference will be given to junior faculty members of partner Universities in Vietnam.

International Student Scholarship at Australian Catholic Uni-versity in Australia, 2015

Australian Catholic University is awarding international student scholar-ships for Undergraduate or postgraduate courses. ACU scholarships are open to commencing International (other than Australian and New Zealand) students with outstanding academic merit of at least an average result of 80% in prior studies. The university is offering up to 20 scholarships to cover 50% of the recipients’ full-time tuition fees and two full tuition scholarships for Research degrees. Applicants must be willing to enroll at ACU as a full-time student up-on accepting the scholarship

IRO Doctoral Scholarship Program for Developing Countries in Belgium, 2015

Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) annually invites applications for IRO doctoral scholarship program available for students from Developing Countries. The IRO Doctoral Scholarships are only granted for doctoral pro-grams for a maximum period of 48 months and eventually for one pre-doctoral year as preparation period for the doctoral program. Applicants may choose a research topic proposed by one of the KU Leuven Doctoral schools: Humanities and Social Sciences Science, Engineering and Technology Biomedical Scienc-es or applicants may propose their own research topic.

GERSS - German Egyptian Research Short term Scholarships

The German Egyptian Research Short term Scholarship GERSS is a program jointly funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) and the German Academic Exchange Service, Bonn (DAAD) in order to finance short term scholarships for young Egyptian scientists to travel to Germany. The target groups of the program are researchers enrolled in MSc, PhD programs and young Post-Doctoral candidates. The scholarships may be awarded for a period from three to six months. The scholarship shall enable advanced graduate students and young scientists to pursue part of their master's, doctoral or post-doctoral research in a specific re-search project at German universities, archives, libraries or research institutes.

Chevening scholarships for master students in UK, 2015

Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations offer Chevening scholarships for master students. The program provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any UK University

Scholarships are provided to study any subject at any UK University.

IDRC Bentley Cropping Systems Fellowship Program for De-veloping Countries, 2014

IDRC offers Bentley Cropping Systems Fellowship Program to a Canadian, per-manent resident of Canada or citizen of a developing country. Applicants must be a graduate student with a university degree in agriculture, forestry, or biology and wish to undertake applied, on-farm research with cooperating farmers in one or more developing countries. Award tenure corresponds with the period of field research (between 18 and 24 months) and value of the award is up to CA$30,000. TWAS Research and Advanced Training Fellowship: 2014 Call for Applications

TWAS, the World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in de-veloping countries, is now accepting applications for the TWAS Research and Advanced Training Fellowship program. The fellowships are offered to scientists from developing countries and are tena-ble at centers of excellence in various developing countries. Eligible fields include one or more of the following: Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Astronomy, Space and Earth Sciences, Mathematics and Physics. TWAS Visiting Expert Program

The TWAS Visiting Expert Program supports visits of in internationally re-nowned scientists to institutions located in developing countries, especially those located in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The objective of the program is to provide institutions and research groups in developing countries, especially those with limited outside contacts, with the opportunity to establish long-term links with world leaders in science and so help develop capacity-building in their country. Under the program, prospective host institutions can invite internationally renowned experts in areas of science other than mathematics and physics to col-laborate in research and training.

The visit should have a minimum stay of two weeks at the host institution. TWAS will cover the cost of the air ticket and will provide an honorarium of USD 500, while the host institution is expected to cover local expenses.

Humboldt Research Fellowships for Experienced Researchers in Germany, 2015

Applications are invited for Humboldt Research Fellowships available for experi-enced researchers to carry out a long-term research project (6-18 months) at a re-search institution in Germany. Approximately 500 research fellowships are awarded. Scientists and scholars of all nationalities and disciplines may ap-ply.
