    Auli, (alt. 2915 mts-3049 mts ) is an important ski destination in the Himalayan

    mountains ofUttarakhand, India. Auli is known as 'Bugyal' in the regional language

    which means meadow. In fact some French and Australian experts consider Auli to

    be one of the best ski resorts in the world. Auli is less known ski destination than

    Shimla, Gulmarg or Manali. It was only in the recent time, after the creation of new

    state Uttarakhand (formerly Uttaranchal) carved out from Uttar Pradesh, Auli was

    marketed as Tourist Destination. The state is called "Dev Bhoomi" which means

    "Land of Gods" as there are important pilgrimage destination in this state mainly

    the 'CHAR DHAM' (Gangotri-Yamunotri-Kedarnath-Badrinath.

    Kausani is a destination for Himalayan tourists. It is located 53 km North ofAlmora.

    The altitude of this place is about 1890 mts. This place offers a 350 km view of the

    Himalayan peaks likeTrisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. There are very few places

    in the Himalayas which can compare with the beauty of Kausani - a picturesque hill

    station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic

    view of the Himalayas. Kausani lies on the atop the ridge amidst dense Pine trees

    overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on

    the other on Almora-Bageshwar-Didihat Highway. Mahatma Gandhi called this place

    the 'Switzerland of India', due to similarity in landscape.

    Mukteshwar is a town and tourist destination in the Nainital district of

    Uttarakhand, India. It sits high in the Kumaon Hills at an altitude of 2286 meters

    (7500 feet), 51 km from Nainital, 72 km from Haldwani, and 395 km from Delhi.

    Mukteshwar gets its name from an 350-year-old temple to Shiva, known as

    Mukteshwar Dham, situated atop the highest point in the town, on the veterinary

    institute's campus. Close to it lie the overhanging cliffs, locally known as Chauli-ki-

    Jali, used for rock climbing and rappelling, with an excellent view of the valleys

    below. The sunrise point is at the government-run PWD guest house. One can also

    visit the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI). Mukteshwar is the abode of a

    saint Shri Mukteshwar Maharaj ji who lived at the Top Cottage Temple where

    his samadhi is. One of his disciples, Swami Sanshudhanand ji, now stays there. The

    whole temple complex is a Tapovan and an ideal place for meditation.

    Mana is a village in the district of Chamoli in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.A little

    village just 3 kms away from Shri Badrinath. It's scenic beauty is unimaginable

    Almora (Hindi: ) is a municipal board, a cantonment town in the Almora district in thestate ofUttarakhand,India. Almora was founded in 1568.[1]

    It is a town bustling with activity and a rich cultural heritage and history. It is considered thecultural heart of the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand.

    Dhanaulti also known as Dhanolti, is a hill station 24 km (15 mi) from the popular hill stationofMussoorie, and 29 km (18 mi) from Chamba, as it is situated between the two.[1]

    It is situated at an altitude of 2286m, and is known for its quiet environs amidst the alpine forestsof Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak.

    Mussoorie (Garhwali/Hindi: , Masr) is a city and a municipal board in the DehradunDistrict of the northern Indian state ofUttarakhand. It is located about 35 km from the statecapital ofDehradun and 290 km north from the national capital ofNew Delhi. This hill station,situated in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges, is also known as the Queen of theHills. The adjoining town ofLandour, which includes a military cantonment, is considered partof 'greater Mussoorie', as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani.

    Guchhupani or Robbers Cave is located in Vijaypur near Anarwala, about eight

    kilometers from Dehradun Clock Tower. Since it is quite in the interiors of Anarwala

    village, one sometimes has to trek or take a sturdy vehicle to reach the place. This

    place as a picnic spot was established by the British Officials in the mid of their rule

    here. It is popular and is considered unusual because the freezing spring goes

    underground at someplace, reappearing a few meters away from the underground

    tunnel. This stream passes through cave, a natural rift in the mountains.

    Sahastradhara

    'Thousand fold spring' is the literal meaning of the term Sahastradhara. It is a lovely

    waterfall, with a depth of 9 meters. What makes the torrent so popular is its

    therapeutic value since its water contains Sulphur. Besides its medicinal merits, the

    stream presents a pictorial environ where one can spent hours in the calmness of

    silence. The Baldi River and the caves exaggerate the aesthetic beauty of the site.

    Garhwal region. The people of Kumaon are known as Kumaonis and speak the

    Kumaoni language.

    The Tehri Dam is a multi-purpose rock and earth-fill embankment dam on the

    Bhagirathi River nearTehri in Uttarakhand, India. It is the primary dam of the Tehri

    Hydro Development Corporation Ltd. and the Tehri hydroelectric complex. Phase 1

    was completed in 2006, the Tehri Dam withholds a reservoir for irrigation, municipal

    water supply and the generation of 1,000 MW of hydroelectricity. Two more phases

    with an additional 400 MW run-of-the-river and 1,000 MW pumped storage

    hydroelectricity are under construction.[1]

    The Kempty Falls are a major attractions of Dehradun and Mussoorie. The falls are

    situated mid way between the Dehradun-Mussoorie path. Set on the hilly terrains,

    the Kempty falls are stunningly beautiful. The water cascading down from an

    altitude of 4,500 feet and splitting further into five cascades, the water falls from a

    height of 40 feet giving the appearance of water jumping and playing on the rocks

    before falling down. This place was developed as a tourist destination by John

    Mekinan, after 1835. The name Kempty is derived from 'Camp-tea', as the Britishers

    would organise their tea parties here.Past Kempty Fall, 12-km downhill, on crossing

    the Aglar River, one reaches the legendary Yamuna River. Trout are in abundance

    here, and fishing permits can be obtained form the Divisional Forest Officer,

    Mussoorie.
